Jim Nill would have probably been my one true dream choice, so with him off the table his 2nd in command with Dallas certainly gets a bit of a leg-up for me compared to other AGMs. Might also help having Dallas' former head amateur scout here too already.

Yeah it's hard to imagine that Gillis isn't already hired. I can't see MLSE giving full reigns to the other names currently being thrown around without a more veteran guy above them.

I think for me it's about doings things in the proper order and having the right person making the decision. Pelley hires the President, President hires a GM, GM hires a coach. It also goes that way for firings. I don't think Pelley should ever really get a say in who the coach of the team is...
