    Blue Jackets @ Leafs - Oct. 21st, 7:00pm - SN, Fan 590

Dom has the Leafs at 64.6% tonight. Also, as I posted on Friday: Home team always has a 55% built in probability (if both teams were equal).  (This is from historical data) Rested team vs back-to-back team adds about 3%.  (Also from historical data) So the Leafs and Bruins, who are pretty...

    The goaltending situation

My numbers seem to correct btw. Leafs vs Bruins twice this week.  Both teams were very close strength wise (numbers below with Tavares, from athletic article about Tavares being gone TIL November) 1st game: at home both teams rested, 55.3% 2nd game: on road, Leafs on back to back, Bruins...

    The goaltending situation

IIRC: 1. Home team wins 55% of the time when there is no rest advantage 2.  Playing on a back-to-back against a rested team gives the rested team a 3% advantage. So, both teams being equal (ie if the Leafs and Capitals were equal teams), the Leafs should have only had a 42% chance of winning. ...

Tavares out with a broken finger

Agreed Disco, I'm not sure what we'd do without Muzzin (or Andersen)

2019-2020 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

A friend of mine's wife is a flight attendant for this service.  She did the Leafs the last two seasons.  She had some funny takes on the players last year.  Unfortunately I won't be getting any inside info anymore as she's not working the Leafs charter this year as they've moved to the west coast.

    LOL.  Only Brandon Pridham knows.

Well shit.  I got caught with my pants down on that one.  Errr.

I can certainly be pedantic about the semantics.

Thats just not tenable.  He retires and he's taking up cap space.  More likely a Robidas Island or demotion (at which point, maybe he says he won't report and thats the end of it)

    Leafs to announce captain

Agreed.  However, he would be the only true sleeper candidate.  EDIT:  Well, if Babcock was owner, President, and GM, then Hyman would probably be a sleeper candidate too.

Yeah, there are only a few combination that works with Hyman and Dermott healthy: Matthews 11634 Rielly 5000 Andersen 5000 Tavares 11000 Muzzin 4000 Hutch 700 Marner 10893 Ceci         4500 Nylander 6962.366 Barrie 2750 Kessel 1200 Kerfoot 3500         Sandin 894.167...

2019-2020 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

Guys, our longest tenured forwards are: Nylander, Kapanen, and Hyman.  They were all recalled by the Leafs on Feb 29, 2016.  As is well know, only Rielly pre-dates the tank year.  Only him and Marincin were on the roster at the start of that year.  What a drastic change.

    2019-2020 NHL Thread

I would have trampled all over Petan trying to get to Ho-Sang or Sprong if I was the Oilers.  Mind-boggling they wouldn't try for either.

This was brought up on twitter by Justin Bourne (so I won't take credit for the thought), but that kinda looks WORSE than the Sens.

    Marlies & Growlers 2019-2020

An interesting note about the guys going down to the ECHL.  - Guys on NHL contracts can't be sent down to the ECHL unless they are on ELC contracts or agree to it. - The ECHL has a 4 Veteran Maximum So some of the guys sent down might have been chosen because of those rules over whether they...

    Marlies & Growlers 2019-2020

Point taken: Conrad wasn't as sought after for sure.  He wouldn't have taken an AHL deal if there was serious interest elsewhere. Duszak was in the top 10 for the Hobey Baker award so I don't agree there

    Marlies & Growlers 2019-2020

Have to wonder if putting a guy like Duszak or Conrad in the ECHL has negative impacts on signing future college free-agents.  I'm sure there are many benefits to signing with the Maple Leafs org. (player development seems to be of the highest standard) but having the chance of being shipped to...

Training Camp Thread - Currently with Marner now

Interesting.  I keep repeating the benefits of having Liljegren be there just in case they claim someone- however, the person they claim HAS to be very close in salary to him for it to make sense.  Claiming someone that makes 700k means they lose 163k in LTIR Room.
