Very good way of explaining it.  Just one correction above.  When Hyman returns, we will be very close to our LTIR limit with just 21 players on the roster.

Furthermore, running a roster of 20 guys just so we can marginally upgrade from Hutch to Louis opens up the risk that ANY player that has a minor injury means we are shorthanded that night.  At least with Hutch, you'd need two guys to be out with minor injuries before we are shorthanded that night.

No there isn't.  Either 21 guys fit under the room created by LTIR or they don't.  Moving a guy down and dropping to 20 just means you aren't using the room created by LTIR.

Not when you are in LTIR.  You don't accumulate any cap space- you've used it all every day you are in LTIR.

Condon 2.4M.  Not happening.  You'd have to trade one of Kappy/Mango/Kerfoot to fit him in. Domingue 1.15M.  I believe his 450k more than Hutch would mean only carrying 18 skaters once Hyman returns (I don't think even the cheapest 19 salaries would fit) (again, unless a trade happens)
