    2025 Offseason Thread: Spring Cleaning

It’s going to age poorly. He’s a 50 pt guy in the regular season.

    2025-26 General Trades & Signings

Doyle’s not really a cap dump. I’m sure other teams were interested. Just no one else would also take Wood’s ridiculous contract.

Bullet dodged. That’s not going to age well.

Definitely banking on the rebound there. He's a good add, but also, is he what the Habs needs? Seems to me like they need more help up front.

John Tavares is still a Maple Leaf [4 years, $4.38mil AAV]

    Only ~$500k more than Frederic!

John Tavares is still a Maple Leaf [4 years, $4.38mil AAV]

No complaints about this one. Still leaves the team with lots of room to maneuver.

It's an insane contract for Frederic. It might not look too bad near the end if the cap keeps going up and he can regain some of his offensive output, but, near-term, it's bad - especially for a team with cap issues and prominent contract situations they need to get resolved. Unless they move...

Peterka is a reasonable statistical comparison for Knies. This deal might help the Leafs’ cause.

Buffalo getting great value again.

Been that way for a couple years now. Still too many, though.

Won't surprise me if Vancouver is close enough to think they have a shot at the playoffs at the deadline. They'll probably be in a position where they feel the need to stand pat.

More than a bit. Without moving out cap, they can't do much beyond retaining Bouchard.

Exactly. A step back, sure, but won't recover? Hardly. And, with the right moves, they could potentially come out ahead when it really matters.

    2025-26 General Trades & Signings

At his best, he’s been a 60ish point guy, which is fair for his contract. If he can get back near that, it’s a good deal for Philly. If he’s settled in as a 40-50 point guy, it’s just an okay deal. Wouldn’t actually represent a huge upgrade on Poehling if that’s how it plays out (when you factor...

While Zegras has become overrated, that's still quite the light return. Also, was really hoping Anaheim would take Kampf off the Leafs' hands, but that's probably off the table now.
