2025-26 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

'02 playoffs were injury riddled - I haven't thought about which was worse. Older rosters tend to have more injuries. I was expecting a higher number of injuries this season so I'm not in shock

    Islanders vs. Leafs - Jan. 3rd, 7:00pm - SN

Myers seemed better last year. It is a tough results oriented business. Benning holding down the #6 spot would be great ... Stecher's done so well with McCabe. I'm a little uneasy about him with another partner .... Fingers crossed

Teammates Nylander, OEL and Hedman have all played with him - nicknamed "backpack". Jon Cooper seemed high on him. Smaller ice surface.

Myers' total ice time for the game: 8:41 - that is about half of a 6th dman's ice time. He was on for 3 goals against. He seemed better last season. I'm not sure what happened. Might as well see what Benning has to offer.

2025-26 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

“They’re looking at things going forward here, so I’m not gonna speculate on what they’re gonna exactly do. But he’s gonna be out a while.” Berube Grade 1 or 2 for groin is 1-2 months. Rest & rehab, etc. If they're looking at doing something beyond that like surgery, as the above seems to imply...

2025-26 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

McCabe has the highest +/- (+76) for all Leafs dmen since Matthews entered the league I think he's the best dman the Leafs have had during those years (not because of that stat - he does it all).

2025-26 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

From google search "Hockey groin prognosis is generally good, with most mild to moderate strains (Grade 1-2) healing in 1-2 months with rest and physio, but severe tears (Grade 3) can take 3-6+ months, potentially needing surgery, with a full recovery expected if managed properly" So best case...

    Devils @ Leafs - Dec. 30th, 7:00pm - SN

Robertson needs to be a fixture in the top 9 - end of debate. 4th line duty with him is a silly notion now. Re-signing McMann & Robertson is going to cost some cap space: Last 2 1/2 seasons Leafs Top 6 goals per 60 with +/- -------------------------------------------- Auston Matthews 1.36 +46...

    Devils @ Leafs - Dec. 30th, 7:00pm - SN

For that reason, I enjoyed this game more than any I can recall offhand this season. Both teams are underachieving but with the injuries the Leafs added recently, I feared this game could get ugly for them. Woll played well but it kinda of was a team shutout - he didn't have to stand on his head...

    Devils @ Leafs - Dec. 30th, 7:00pm - SN

The Devils have a strong PP that will face the Leafs strong PK They have a weak PK that will face the Leafs weak PP (until recently ..) Roughly average defensively but low scoring beyond their PP. I haven't seen them since they played the Leafs in October. I know there have been some injuries...

Red Wings vs. Leafs - Dec. 28th, 7:00pm - SN

I'm not as big of a fan of Robertson as you appear to be. But I noticed recently folks getting excited about Stecher - particularly after the game ending arm waving to get the crowd going. It reminded me of Robertson's fire and effort and made me wonder why he doesn't get the same respect. He...

Red Wings vs. Leafs - Dec. 28th, 7:00pm - SN

In 3 on 3, size doesn't matter nearly as much. Waterbug hockey. Not nearly as many physical matchups. I don't buy small as a very good excuse.
