I forgot this was happening until someone mentioned it on twitter just now. Final episode of the season.

The Kessel-Bozak combo tour was pretty cool. It showed different side of Kessel. Pretty funny. Bozie living there for free 8) Memorable quote:"some of this stuff would be so fucking ridiculous to put on the thing... like ... like c'mon... let's be realistic here... don't make us look like idiots." - Phil Kessel

Ping Pong rematch. Lots of emotion from both Phaneuf and Kessel.

Some great moments form Winter Classic. Memorable quote: "Fuck you Alfie. Fuckin hero." - Dion Phaneuf

What impressed me most was the JM Liles saying goodbye and the things he said to Morgan Rielly to keep it up. He wished some of the guys best of luck, apparently close to Jerry D?Amigo.

God I love Phil Kessel. Took long enough for 24/7 to put a focus on him but it was definitely worth it. He seemed like the most down-to-earth regular person on the entire team.

Overall the series didn't match the other two, but that's what happens when you're looking at two teams without a real rivalry and one of them are completely uninteresting.

Enjoyed that again. Must be one of the best produced sports documentary series.

Couple of bits in this weeks that stood out:

The meeting when Bozak was coming back to the lineup. Carlyle puts the lines on the board. Leaves gaps except he puts McClement straight onto the 3rd lune. No thought whatsoever that he could be the 4th line guy.

Secondly tells the team to shoot the puck. Team does not shoot the puck.

It's not that they don't shoot it, it's that they don't possess the puck in the offensive zone nearly enough compared to the opposition so they don't get the opportunities to shoot it more.

That stuck out for me, too. Not that I was at all surprised. I really just highlighted a lot of what a lot of us around here have been saying for a long time.

Don't you suppose that's something he probably thought a bit about beforehand? That the decision was made by that time doesn't mean he didn't think about it.

No. Randy Carlyle is the worst coach of all time. Made those decisions on the spot in front of the HBO camera crew to show us all how terrible of coach he is.  ::)

Listen. I get how frustrating the losing is, but some people like to take it upon themselves to blame coaches and systems and players, etc. This team is what it is. Its young and inexperienced. They are learning the ropes and getting acclimatized to playing against the best players on the planet. Look no further than the Oilers, and what they have been going through for years now. The same people will blame Dallas Eakins for their woes, when in fact it just takes time for these young clubs to mature and develop. If this club is still as inconsistent in 3-4 years, than we can point fingers at the system and players, but I think Carlyle and Nonis deserve some breathing room here and some patience. *Rant over* :)

Not really. Well, probably. But really the only thing I actually thought about either point was that they were interesting as McClement's ice time and the number of shots we take are probably two of the biggest discussion points around these parts. Particularly in the narrative of the game threads.

But Liev told us the 4th line was considered for Kadri.

Good rant Red Leaf, and right on.  The Oilers have so much talent but have to learn to win and the Loafs are young as well.  Lets hope for a good draft this year and for some of our young guys to develop

A bit of a strange quirk...

... ever since those cameras left the locker room for good, the team has yet to -win a single game in four tries ? and has looked abysmal, to say the least.

Toronto has given up 21 goals in those four games, while scoring just seven in
the same time period. The weak efforts culminated tonight with a 3-2 loss at the
hands of the Washington Capitals, after leading 2-1 early in the third period. The
game was sloppy from the start, as the Leafs gave up 35 shots ? furthering their ?lead? as the team with the most shots allowed per game in
the league.
