Much is being made ado (by media members at least) about the subtle change of pushing back 29 games (22 home, 7 away) from a 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. start time.

Where do you stand?  Do you care?

The later, the better.  I miss the days where I can get home just after 9 and still be able to catch the 3rd period.  I also prefer hockey that runs later into the night, which would be after the kids go down to sleep and hockey could be watched in peace.

I prefer the 730 start myself. 7 pm is just too early- by the time I get home from work, make dinner and clean up thereafter, it's way past 7. I wish the Saturday game would start later.  >:(

Really doesn't make a difference to me. It'll probably help fans in attendance at the ACC considering the mess that is Toronto traffic these days.

I like it personally.  Sure, it was nice if you got home to turn on the game at 7pm, but I think there should be an effort to prioritize who is actually at the game.  7pm can be tough to make it to Toronto, especially if you are having to drive into the downtown.

Media people whining about it can buzz off.  I don't think there are a lot of mainstream media people who are must-reads anymore anyway and it seems to be those ones who are griping the most.

I like 7:30 a fair bit better, especially when I go to the game. just that half hour later takes the game a little bit further away from the rush hour traffic.

The Leafs coverage in the media has become more like TMZ than about hockey.  It's rather stupid IMO.  I mean last week it was "there is a rift between Kessel and Spott".  I mean, give me an F'ing break.  They had one conversation and the player had his view on how a play should be done and now they hate each other?  For all I care the media can go shove it where the sun don't shine.

You mad Bro?

If it's a legitimate 7:30 puck drop I'm fine with it. If it's 7:30 for the anthems and pre-game and whatever ceremonies they might have then it might drag.

When it affects the players ability to play and is a disadvantage to our hockey club then yes.  LA Kings, Chicago or the rest of the league pretty much don't need to deal with this stuff and the added stress and pressure it gives the players.  I truly believe the media is a major detriment to this hockey club whether it being affecting a player's ability to play or attracting elite free agents.  So am I mad bro?  Yeah I'm mad brah.

I have to be up early 7 days a week so I prefer the 7pm starts. But really, it's a half hour. It doesn't make that big a difference.

7:30pm starts are better.  I always thought that the 7pm time slot is a tad too early.  All home games should start at this hour, especially weekend (Saturday) games at least.

Since people work during weekdays, perhaps the earlier (7pm) time may be more suitable for them (in terms of getting home from the game a little earlier), which is understandable.  But, for weekend games, the change in time (to 7:3pm) may be more suitable & convenient.

How many season's has it been since they switched from 7:30pm to 7pm? 6? It hasn't been that long.

I prefer 7:30pm. Traffic in Toronto is insane.

Personally id rather 7 during week. I get up 445 -5 am for work.. When games go to the dumb shootouts they may now go past 10:30 >:(

For most of you I commiserate for the reasons you prefer 7:30. My wife is not a huge Leaf fan so the comprimise is I watch the first period or 2 and we move on (unless we have an unbelievably good game going on).  So I do prefer the 7 start for that reason.
The problem with the 7:30 start is it is morphing into a later puck drop. The other night the puck was not on the ice until 7:40 or after.
Funny but when we go out west for the winter the puck drops at 5 or 5:30PM and the game is over by the time normal prime time is on.  My wife doesnt mind that so much.

I like the 19:00 start times.

20:00 was too late for HNIC back in the day.  My kids couldn't stay up to see the whole game.  Now, my Grandkids can actually make it to the end of the game.  1 hour makes such a difference!

I can live with 19:30 start times, but, I still prefer the 19:00 starts.

Such babies, all of you!

Poor Arn is awake at midnight for the start of most games, I fee his pain, I did the same for the first ten years I followed the team and missed no more than a handful of games a season. :p

Oh Im definitely a baby. I ahve to eb up between 4:30 and 5..&;30 games get over too late. I still watch but im a tad cranky the next day

Haha, I only just found this part of the board and specifically came in to complain cos the 7.30 starts have continued this year and that extra half hour with ceremonies means some games aren't finishing til well after 3am which cuts me down to 4 hours sleep when I've work the next morning, but sure that's the price you pay...

I guess I'll just have to emigrate.
