A little early, but I'm not sure I would have had time later tonight. The Capitals play Montreal tonight too, and the stats above won't be updated to reflect that game.

Kadri  over Holland on the first line !!!. Is Carlyle crazy!!!
Will he never learn.

Actually... he may be making a smart move.. I noticed Kulemin had a little more spark after being paired with Holand, so why break that up? Holland, imo, will never be our number 1..

Those were also just the lines from the last game since the team didn't practice today. Obviously id Bozak plays all that could change.

Bozak has 3 even-strength points in 11 games. (176 minutes @ even-strength)
Troy Bodie has 2 even-strength points in 9 games. (53 minutes @ Even-strength)
Josh Leivo has 2 even-strength points in 7 games. (67 minutes @ even-strength)

Can't wait for Bozak to come in and fix this 5-on-5 problem the team has.

Two fairly even teams (stats) should be a good tilt. Wake-up call/turning point for the buds.
Lets see who is hungry, hoping for tired legs with the caps and our boyz get it going. GoLeafsGo

Just looking at the capitals top 4 defense.  Wow they are really good at drafting dmen.  Their top four is all young and in house developed.

Lines from practice:

JVR-Holland-Kessel
Lupul-Kadri-Clarkson
Raymond-McClement-Kulemin
McLaren-Smithson-Orr

I'm speechless.

So clearly Randy's suggesting that Orr can't keep 19-year old Tom Wilson in check by himself, right?

I agree that McLaren in the lineup is excess (well so is Orr) but Volpatti is a face-puncher so I'm sure that would be Carlyle's reasoning.

I'm not.  Nothing changes with the guy.

Team gets outplayed in the first period....come out in the second with the exact same approach.
Team gets hemmed in their zone for 10 minutes straight?  Keep doing the same thing and write notes on a pad of paper.
Team isn't scoring....move Orr up on to a line with Kadri

Orr has fought in 3 games this year.  He's played in 20...put up 0 points and has 4 fights.
McLaren has 4 fights this year.  He's played in 10 games and has 0 fights.

And Smithson who actually has provided some decent defensive play and strong faceoff performance has played 7 games with 0 points.

Yes, Randy Carlyle seems to think it appropriate to dress a 4th line with 0 points in 37 combined games played.

Makes sense though given that Washington has been gooning it up all year with their 13 fights.

More great news:

Looks like Fraser will draw into the lineup and Morgan Rielly will be a scratch.

If Fraser's healthy and they wanted him to play use 7 defencemen and keep McLaren in the pressbox instead of on the bench for 57 minutes.

Somebody fire this idiot already.  I'm going to enjoy Ovechkin/Grabovski driving wide and skating right past Fraser tonight.

If Rielly played exclusively on the powerplay tonight and Fraser exclusively on the penalty kill, they would each get about half of what McLaren's average ice-time is this season. And combined they would just about pass it.
