Colton Orr recalled by Leafs, will play Saturday

Good. If the season's over, might as well throw us a couple of face-punchings as bones. Heck, sign him for next year while you're at it.

Apparently it's because Orr is going to retire.

Oh yeah, that should never have been in doubt. Orr's done playing hockey. Leafs are just doing a nice thing here. I doubt he even tries to drop the gloves on Saturday, why risk it? He's already dealt with concussion issues in the past.

Maybe we'll get to see the exceptionally rare "3 fights and a  game misconduct" out of him. Oh, wait, the Leafs are playing the Habs . . .

Regardless of what you think about the merits of fighting or enforcers. It seems like no one has had anything but good things to say about Colton as a person. I hope his life post hockey is long and healthy.

67% of his goals came as a Leaf. They've got to do this one up right. Possible ways he'll be honoured:

- $25 giftcard to Tim Horton's
- Single ticket to next year's home opener
- "Orr's Oar": a canoe paddle carved with scenes depicting Colton's greatest accomplishments as a Leaf. (Bonus points if you get the reference)

Show's the class of the organization (even Ollie J. spoke about it), that they bring this guy back to retire as a true NHL player, pure class. And doesnt that help the tank as well.

And this is what the Leafs as an organization need to continue doing.  They need to be a classy organization and do he right thing going forward.  All of these small things add up to being a recognized as a organization that does things the right way.

I have always felt that the way they handled the Sundin situation was very wrong.

I'm not a proponent of fighting in hockey -- it should most certainly be banned now that we know more about the effects of concussions. But I've never heard of a bad word said about orr.  I'm glad the leafs are honouring him.

Never cared for Orr as a player, but commendable move to give him one last NHL game.  He can go on and live a healthy and normal life.

Hopefully he doesn't pull a Colton DevOrreaux and overturn the tank.  Actually, it would be pretty cool to see him score a goal in his last game.

Another fantasy scenario that would have been fantastic, having the Leafs playing the Senators in Toronto Saturday in the final game of the season.  You know how the rest goes.
