Game Notes

ARI
?Kuemper (9-11-4, 2.69 GAA, .914 Sv%) will likely start for the Coyotes
?Arizona is situated right in the middle of the wild card race and the bottom of the Western conference. A 7-4-2 run is keeping their hopes alive but they'd have to leapfrog 4 teams to make the playoffs
?Nick Schmaltz put up a decent 14 points in 17 games after being traded for Dylan Strome earlier in the season. Unfortunately a knee injury at the beginning of the month put an end to his season
?Remember Richard Panic? Boy times sure were better when he was a Leaf eh

tor
?andersen will likely start for the leafs, not that it will even matter
?the leafs' lines were in a blender all game on friday, so difficult to tell what babs will throw out. one thing is for sure though it won't make any difference because this team isn't going anywhere anytime soon
?281 players have more goals than matthews does since december 22nd. probably because he's already mentally checked out of toronto and wants to go home. he may as well just save everyone some time and start playing for the coyotes right now
?the leafs are at least doing one thing right, and that's hacking the nhl.com website to make it look like they're 5th in the nhl in wins. we all know that can't be accurate
Injuries

?Kevin Connauton - Lower Body - Injured Reserve
?Brad Richardson - Upper Body - Injured Reserve
?Nick Schmaltz - Lower Body - Out for season
?Michael Grabner - Eye - Injured Reserve
?Antti Raanta - Lower Body - Out for season
?Jason Demers - Knee - Out for season
?Christian Dvorak - Pectoral - Injured Reserve
Code:

?tyler ennis - ankle - injured reserve

So sad. :( They're slumping so badly that they can't even bring themselves to use capital letters. This is worse than I thought.

You just won the Cayman Islands.

Don't know the outcome of the game, but we can be certain that Gardiner will literally be the worst player on the ice

I'm excited as I will get to see it on my TV here tonight, not streaming Reddit, although it will be the Yotes feed.  Will go to see them for the return game in Feb.  Game will start at 5 when they play here probably to make it onto Hockey Night in Canada. Will be weird going to a hockey game at 5PM, hope the Sushi place across the plaza is open.  Pretty good place.

Don't forget Zaitsev and throw in a side of Oz and Hainsey!

And Babcock will officially establish himself tonight as the worst coach in the history of hockey.

Here's hoping that playing with Lindholm and Gauthier forces Nylander to play a little more selfish. I know this isn't something you usually want a hockey player to do, but I'm hoping he tries to keep the puck a little more and do things on his own. Some of Nylander's best shifts are the ones where he's just circling around the offensive zone making defenders look like idiots.
