I've had access to both the Star and Sun paper editions for the past several months.  What's with them charging online now?  Any work-a-rounds?

Yeah - I experienced this as well.  They limit the number of articles you can read.  A little different with the Globe and Mail, but same concept.

I've had to pay for the Sun for a couple months now :-( The Star just started charging two weeks ago. PitA, but I have to have my news, so?.. still cheaper than buying the paper version, plus no trees die for my fix this way.

You can probably clear your cookies to get around their article limit.

I've just moved on to news services like Yahoo and then basically rely on twitter.  Been quite liberating to actually not have to sift through and avoid writers I can't stand, which is most of the MSM in Toronto.

The Globe and Mail used to have a paywall for some "premium" articles that they got rid of 8-9 years ago. Funny how things are now going in the opposite direction.

Sometimes I'll go to the store and buy the Saturday Globe or Post just because it's a bigger paper and I like to relax and have the paper in front of me on the weekend. During the week I just read articles on the go throughout the day.

I would pick up the Star or the Sun for free when working in Toronto.  I would spend about 5 minutes tops going through the entire paper.  Sunshine Girl is the most informative of any of it.
