George Martin Producer Extraordinaire Passes Away

George Martin, the man whom the Guinness Book of World Records bills as "the world's most successful music producer", passed away at the age of 90.

One of Martin's greatest successes was as the man who helped put The Beatles -- that great iconic band from the 60's --on the map, make that the shores of North America, whom "the four lads" (Paul McCartney Ringo Starr, George Harrison & John Lennon) took by storm.

Martin was responsible for producing The Beatles' music, which sent fans into a tizzy wherever these guys performed.

Martin was instrumental in setting The Beatles  in motion.  When he was first introduced to The Beatles by their manager, Brian Epstein, he described them as "raw".  He redefined the band -- also replacing original drummer Pete Best with Ringo Starr-- and the rest is history.  As an example of Martin's influence, the song  Yesterday, Martin having been classically-trained, added a string quartet to the tune.

Martin also produced for other artists in later years, such as The Police, and even for Celine Dion.

An incredible career no doubt.  They loved him, yeah, yeah, yeah.  Tippin' their hat to you, Sir.

Rest In Peace.

Nice tribute, you hit the nail on the head. Great man and remember back when the Beatles had the top three on Chum Chart in the day. 4th was Manfred Mann with "Do Wah Diddy Diddy".
God it seems like a million years ago
