Halak to WSH

I like that return for Buffalo. Neuvirth still has another year on his contract before he's a UFA, and if given an opportunity still has starter potential.

Not sure I get this deal. Neuvirth isn't really very good, and a 6th is nothing significant.

So the Miller deal is? A 1st, Stewart, Neuvirth and a 6th?

Did I miss a 1st or 2nd there?

There's another pick from the Miller deal that could become a 1st. With Neuvirth, they get a younger guy that has had moments of brilliance in the NHL. For a team like Buffalo, it's definitely worth the risk for a UFA they clearly had no intention of resigning.

FriedgeHNIC: Sabres announce Klesla was in the trade too. Halak and a third in 2015 for Neuvirth and Klesla

Okay then.

If I were the Leafs I'd take a look at Klesla over the summer.

Is he that good at this point in his career?  He has spent most of the season in the AHL and just cleared waivers again in January.

He's very much in the "only if he's willing to sign for around the league minimum and potentially play for the Marlies all season" range of things. There are going to be a number of better options.

Klesa gets bounced from Phoenix to Washington and then to Buffalo at the deadline, decides not to report to the Sabres:
