HBO will debut a new episode of "24/7 Red Wings/Maple Leafs: Road to the NHL Winter Classic" on four consecutive Saturday nights, beginning Dec. 14. The series follows the teams simultaneously, chronicling their highs and lows each week, and builds to the sixth edition of the Winter Classic, with more than 100,000 fans expected to attend the game at the "Big House" on the campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich.

For those of us that don't get HBO, apparently Sportsnet is airing the show on Sundays, starting Dec. 15.

Edited, I assume.

To me that takes away the best part of the show.  It's a slightly less edited look into the dressing room.  I think we will see some pretty interesting stuff around the Leafs on 24/7, but it's going to be less revealing than some of the other ones simply due to the already heavy media access/interest in the Leafs.  Take away some of the more candid commentary and I think you lose a good amount of the value.

Sportsnet says:

?We?re not going to sanitize it at all,? said Scott Moore, president of broadcasting at Rogers Media. ?With one exception ? we will bleep out the f-bombs. We won?t edit anything else out or sanitize it, because viewers these days are used to that type of thing.?

HBO won't be censoring it - but Sportsnet will be.

Thank being said, thank goodness for the internet! :)

It has previously been on HBO Canada and it is worth the investment. Most of the TV I watch outside of sports and news are all HBO shows,Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones and many more are excellent TV

HBO Canada doesn't have the rights, Sportsnet does.  Whether it will be at some point in the future I don't know, but it won't be on HBO Canada in December.

It's mentioned in the article I got the quote above from: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/hbo-documentary-series-on-maple-leafs-and-red-wings-to-air-on-sportsnet/article15043323/

Yeah, I mean, I know Sportsnet is trying to pass it off as not being a big deal but 24/7's(and Hard Knocks) greatest strength is that they really do immerse you in the locker room and create the feeling that you're getting an unfiltered look at what goes on. Commercial breaks and bleeped words break that immersion.

since i dont get HBO and me and family crave vulgar language, i hope someone puts a torrent of this as soon as its finished airing.

Not that I'm openly condoning stealing intellectual property and blah blah blah, but, there are a few sites around that tend to have jsut about every show that airs available as a torrent with less than 24 hours of it being aired, and they've had 24/7 available in past seasons.

I can't check from work (blocked) but I'm pretty sure HBO.ca had it streaming right away or within 24 hours of airing last year.

I know I watched it online, uncensored, from either HBO or YouTube and it wasn't some twerp uploading it illegally.

Things I expect to see / hear:

Slow motion footage...lots of it.
Hipster soundtrack
Christmas sweaters
Players kissing their WAGs before traveling
Phaneuf using the word "excited" excessively.
Players holding babies.

I think I heard Dave Poulin on TSN radio say that the Leafs have input into the editorial process. That's a little disheartening if accurate.
