Interesting timing - Burke/Luongo/Lockout

So, up until last night, there were a ton of hockey and Leafs fans talking about boycotting hockey.  Nobody was interested and most were annoyed with the lockout...

But does the Burke firing and possible deal for Luongo make Leafs fans quickly forget all that lockout stuff?  Are you more intrigued as of this afternoon? :o

I've thought about it... and I have to say, no.

I was never one that was going to "boycott" per say, but I lost a lot of respect for the "business" side of the game. I truly felt that they could have got down to negotiating long before they did, in an effort to not miss any games. It was a show I didn't watch.

if they really bring Luongo and his monstrous contract I will be pissed

This decision has NOTHING to do with Luongo. It's media driven nonsense. They are just trying to create a buzz and keep people watching their boring network.

Do you really think Burke would wait around to be fired? He would have just quit. This is just Bell shaking things up for the sake of it, and Rogers going along for the ride.

I feel like Ballard just came back.  I'll follow via radio/internet, but refuse to let them get any $ from me.  Won't even watch HNIC anymore... cancelled T.V.  What a great life decision it's been.

Some levity, I have no idea where to put this...Luongo thing.  If you're italian you'll love this:

I vowed to not spend any money on any NHL stuff for 5 years. I don't really spend much on it anyway, and I'll probably cave in less than 5 years in some way, or just forget. I'll be watching all the games that aren't on LeafsTV.

I don't even have cable TV, I'll only be watching the CBC games (which means I get to see all the playoff games!!!)

Zee. If Luongo's playing goal for the Leafs and they start winning games again, you'll splurge for cable again!  ;)

Who am I kidding....I'll watch all the games but in all sincerity, the passion
is pretty weak. I can't say "gone" because I'm still watching. Once the NFL
is done (and I've only watched that due to the lockout) I would probably have
gone nuts but I survived the last lockout.....

I will also base my interest on what Nonis gives up for Luongo. If it's much I'll be back to being peed off.
