Game Notes

TOR
?Andersen (25-14-4, 2.61 GAA, .922 Sv%) will start for the Leafs
?Babcock said on Thursday that he expected both Hainsey and Polak to be recovered from their illnesses by Saturday. He also said he was hopefuly Rielly would be available too. Roster moves would be necessary if that's the case
?Safe to probably assume the forward lines will continue to stay the same, but the defence is obviously a big question mark until we know who is actually healthy

BOS
?Rask (20-8-4, 2.12 GAA, .924 Sv%) will start for the Bruins
?The Bruins will be without the services of Brad Marchand, who is in the middle of a 5-game suspension for elbowing. Marchand has 50 points in 38 games this season and actually has the highest PPG rate in the league (1.32)
?Boston might however be welcoming back defenceman Charlie McAvoy. McAvoy has missed the past 4 games after undergoing an ablation heart procedure. But he's been fully cleared medically and might be ready to return to the line-up
?The Bruins have won 6 of their past 7 games and are now 3 points ahead of the Leafs for 2nd in the Atlantic division, and they also have four games in hand

Injuries

?Nathan Horton - Back - Out indefinitely
?Joffrey Lupul - Actually Injured - Out indefinitely
?Nikita Soshnikov - Groin - Injured Reserve
?Morgan Rielly - Arm - Injured Reserve
?Roman Polak - Infection - Probable Saturday
?Ron Hainsey - Illness - Probable Saturday
Code:

?Kevan Miller - Upper Body - Questionable Saturday
?Anders Bjork - Upper Body - Injured Reserve
?Noel Acciari - Lower Body - Injured Reserve
?Charlie McAvoy - Heart Procedure - Questionable Saturday

I look at the Bruins lineup and while I think they ought to be good I'm a little bit surprised their record is that much better than the Leafs'. I guess the offense and goaltending have done alright lately.

I hope Holl gets to play tonight.  Quite a story in the Athletic on the relationship between Gardner and Holl playing for the same high school team in Minnesota.

Marchand is like a big old appetizer plate of raw cauliflower with  no dip on the side. You hate it but you can't deny it's good (for you).

The weird thing is that at practice the pairings were Borgman-Carrick and Dermott-Polak, but hey he reached the right decision eventually.

Opening lineup for April 11th Boston vs Toronto 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

I think the Leafs could really catch fire with their best defensemen now healthy and the young guys in the lineup.  I love the new forward lines as well.  It should be a great game tonight.  I have a feeling the Leafs are just going to roll over the Bruins which will be impressive to see.

I was forgetting that Brad Marchand is still suspended.  That's great news, particularly with Polak and Martin not playing.

Remember these are the big bad bears we are playing and with Tukka Pouge in net they will be tough.  Good test, sorry to see Holl out, wanted him to score 3 games in a row.

He was an emergency call up, so, once one of our injured/sick players were ready to play, back down he had to go.
