All but one Canadian team in the lottery mix.... And Montreal could be in there too by the end of the weekend.    Yikes.  Rogers will be having a heart attack if this is the case in April

He's not starting tonight but Bobrovsky's back in the line-up for Columbus. Hopefully that helps them out a bit.

And McDavid likely returns after the all-star break for Edmonton.

Just gotta pray that the Pens squeak into the post-season.

It'll be ok if they don't. Obviously that would be the best case scenario but getting the pick next year might be just as valuable, especially if through deadline deals the Leafs already have a bunch of extra picks.

And while not getting the pick in either year would stink, if Pittsburgh misses the playoffs this season and next then I would very much question anyone who thought the trade was one the Leafs lost.

What are the early reports on the 2017 draft saying?

Outside of there not appearing to be a McDavid/Eichel/Matthews level prospect, not much.

And outside of that, and maybe some general thoughts about the top 5 or 10, I really question whether or not we'll ever get anything more concrete then that. I know we like to talk about good draft years and bad draft years but outside of the top 5 or 10 picks I really doubt there's any meaningful and accurate consensus about a draft's strength relative to other years.

IMO sounded like it or why would they asked about the draft.

Because we were talking about maybe getting the Pittsburgh pick next year, a pick that has nothing to do with where the Leafs finish.
