Leafs say they won't be skating in Washington this morning ... severe doubts about this evening as well.

Very sad and may very well be true

7-2 Caps

Heh. Easy to jump on the blowout bandwagon now that it has happened twice in three games. :)

Yahoo has the Leafs 10th in the east this morning (though tied with the Rangers and Canes).

Usually just when you think the Leafs are done, they manage to pull off a win. I wanted to come in and predict a 5-1 loss, but I think they come out a little stronger tonight and at least get this thing to overtime.

Then again, I am sick, so maybe my senses are a little off. :)

Maybe the plan is "Hey, the Rangers got pummelled by Pittsburgh and then the very next day demolished us. So if we get trounced by the Canes, we'll surely demolish the Caps on Friday!"

Grabovski was bad against the Leafs in the first game, he probably lights it up tonight to put the cherry on top.  Another bad loss for Leafs coming up.

Considering what is happening, funny when you play tire irons the lugnuts fall off and the tires spin into the ditch. I was a big fan of Grabbo and his energy, but of course that didnt fit RC style of pylon hockey.  He keeps saying the team is not moving its feet, if he feels this way does he play so many guys whom can't keep up in the modern day game?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Bernier steals this one tonight.

Part of me doesn't want that to happen. I want the whole team to take responsibility, much like Lupul has, get angry for F's sake. Every player in that dressing room should be coming out tonight with an extremely huge bur under their proverbial saddle. Bernier coming in and pitching a 55 save shutout, in a 1-0 win will only let the others off the hook.

So its another blood bath tonight?

Playing on the road in a back to back, I can't see any good things.

I get the reasoning. I just have to think there is enough pride among this group to pull together and break out of this free fall. Whether that happens tonight or not is the question of the day, but lets hope they find a way soon. This team is no way near as bad as the past three games would indicate.

Personally, I'd bench Franson. He just seems to be one of the guys who floats out there a lot, and has little 'fight-back' in him. They need to identify the guys who are still trying hard from the ones who just don't give a rats ass. (There appear to be many of the later)

After 2 bad losses to Rangers and Isles (who had both played the night before), I would have thought that LAST NIGHT was the Leafs response to that.  Playing on the road, away from the "pressure" of home ice and a week removed from the HBO distractions, and that's what they came up with?  I really, really, really think this is "18 wheeler part 2"

Yeah. I mean, you would have though the Islanders game would have been a response to the Rangers game, but, that obviously didn't happen. Then last night happened. Maybe 3rd time's a charm, but, if the Leafs don't bring it from the opening face-off tonight, my guess is it's going to ugly and fast. Washington is a much better offensive team than any of the previous 3 opponents.

It's more like there are holes in the boat and it's been gaining water for awhile, meanwhile Bernier and Reimer have been frantically bailing the boat trying to keep it afloat but the waves are getting higher, the storm clouds are moving in, and soon enough they won't be able to bail it out anymore.
