Game Notes

TOR
?Andersen (21-8-5, 2.74 GAA, .914 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?Andreas Johnsson is getting closer to returning from injury. He and Timashov rotated on the 4th line at practice on Saturday. It's still not confirmed if he'll be returning tomorrow, or where he would play if he does

MIN
?Bobrovsky (16-12-4, 3.29 GAA, .896 Sv%) will likely start for the Panthers
?Bob is clearly not having the season the Panthers expected him to have when they signed him to a 7-year, $10mil AAV contract this past offseason. He also left practice early on Saturday with a non-serious injury but it might be enough of an issue to keep him from starting this game
?Jonathan HUBERDEAU might be the most underrated offensive star in the league right now. He's currently 7th in points with 59 in 44 games. This is after scoring 92 points in 82 games last season
?Florida currently sits 1 point out of the final wild card spot in the East
Injuries

?Andreas Johnsson - Leg - Questionable Sunday
?Trevor Moore - Concussion - Injured Reserve
?Jake Muzzin - Foot - Injured Reserve
?Ilya Mikheyev - Wrist - Injured Reserve
Code:

?Sergei Bobrovsky - Undisclosed - Probable Sunday
?MacKenzie Weegar - Upper Body - Injured Reserve

I watch a lot of panthers games, and this team is on the verge of being a powerhouse.

If Bobrovski comes back to even decent, and they get in a wild card spot, I sure as heck wouldn't want to play them first round.

I could easily see the rest of this season being a dog fight between the Panthers and Leafs for #3 in the Atlantic with the "winner" probably facing the Bolts in the 1st round the the 4th place team potentially not even getting a wildcard berth. I also tend to think that would be a good thing...last year we were able to sloppily cruise to 3rd place and seemed kind of flat going into the playoffs. A bit of late season adversity might get us nicely humming along if we can make it.

They've got to keep playing at a decent clip, that's for sure. I think they're capable. Muzzin being out I think really hurts us. Hoping they make a pitch for Georgiev and give up Bracco or something because we literally have nothing remotely close to a capable 1B option if Andersen goes down or continues to sputter. The Leafs could even be in a wildcard position based on the way things are shaping up.

Bob's out.

2-0. Being fully dominated.  Zero effort to begin.  They don?t try for long periods at a time.

I understand the general principle behind reversing the puck, but constantly reversing it into the feet of a guy who already has an opposing forward right on top of him just isn't a good recipe for success.

Cody Ceci should never take shots.  It?s amazing how bad he is at getting the puck anywhere near the net

Playoff implication wise, this game is huge.  Amazing the lack of urgency considering the circumstances.  Lost 2 in a row at home, playing the team trailing you in the playoff chase and they come out like it?s saturday in the square.
