Game Notes

TOR
?Hutchinson (4-8-1, 3.62 GAA, .886 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?Toronto will of course be without Andersen for this game as he did not travel with the team to New York. He's considered day to day with a neck injury. Kasimir Kaskisuo will back-up
?The Leafs will finally cave in to a growing segment of fans who have called for a much maligned player to be scratched in favour of a Swedish replacement who's plied their trade with the Marlies for 3 seasons: that's right Freddy the Goat will be sitting this one out so Timashov can get back into the line-up

NY
?Shesterkin (3-1-0, 2.51 GAA, .927 Sv%) will likely start for the Rangers
?As you may have heard the Rangers have been carrying 3 goaltenders for about a month now. During that time all 3 goalies have been rotating starts fairly equally. This will be Shesterkin's 5th start while Lundqvist and Georgiev each have 3
?Despite a couple big name additions in the offseason it looks like New York will miss the playoffs for the 3rd straight season
?New York had a bit of a scare as their (likely) big trade bait candidate Chris Kreider left a game recently with an apparent head injury. He's missed one game already and will be considered a game time decision for this one

Injuries

?Frederik Andersen - Neck - Out Wednesday
?Ilya Mikheyev - Wrist - Injured Reserve
?Morgan Rielly - Foot - Injured Reserve
Code:

?Chris Kreider - Upper Body - Day to day

We need to play a full 60 minutes no matter what the score is and hope Hutch has a good game. Nothing like stating the obvious. :)

If Andersen is out for the next week or so the results should decide whether Hutchinson can cut it, one way or the other.

Hutch gets the start against a bottom-ten league opponent (which has been his recipe for success). We got a shot for two here.
Go Leafs Go!

Diggin' the trumpeted O Can.

US singer needs to pick up the tempo.  It sounds like a refurbished drinking song.

Really need to trade Kapenen.  All he does is stop, stop hard, turn and give the puck to the other team.

Good start apart from whatever penalty. Sandin is going to be a stud in a couple years. Love that he's trying out his creativity. Great pinch also.

That was a pretty juicy rebound Shesterkin, Goalie of the Future on Broadway, served up to our Captain.

Again, much more energy tonight than they have had at home.  It doesn?t make any sense.  The leafs on the road are energetic and extremely difficult to play against.  The leafs at home are a bottom 10 NHL team.

Whoops my boy got owned there.

EDIT: well, anyway should have been more aware of Cheetos.
