Line-up Notes

?The Leafs will split their goaltending duties this weekend, my guess is Reimer goes tonight
?Toronto has multiple options to fill their void at centre, but they are all too depressing to talk about right now
?It'll be interesting to see if Carlyle goes with 7 defencemen tonight or if Rielly sits

?Tonight will be Buffalo's first game with Ted Nolan behind the bench this season
?The Sabres could also split their goaltending duties this weekend but Miller might play both
?John Scott returns to the line-up tonight after serving his 7-game suspension

The two worst possession teams in the league square off with the Leafs missing their top 3 center's, 2 of which are 2 of the Leafs top 3 possession players.  Derp.

I think of Buffalo games and i think  loss, due to past seasons, so if we win I will be happy, a split would be perfect given our current injury/suspension situation.

Will be in Buffalo this weekend sporting my custom Leaf plates on my truck. I want two wins and no retribution taken out on my Ram. Thank you. ;)

?Toronto has multiple options to fill their void at centre, but they are all too depressing to talk about right now

Too true... I'm wondering if it might be time for Nonis to try and make a trade to get a young NHL/ AHL guy that's on the bubble, to try and get some relief, but also have a prospect in the pipeline?

Will be interesting to see how Buffalo comes out in this one. I think Nolan is going to have a very positive effect on them but it may take time.. at least hopefully will take more than these two games. :P

This is as good as any two games to be missing your top 3 centres.  Hoping JVR looks a bit more at home at centre tonight. Need the top line to produce.

That.

I was really looking forward to this stretch of games, as it looked like a good chance to put up a winning streak.  Now I just don't know.  The offense is going to have to find a way to get going.

I don't see us winning tonight. Sabres will be pumped with a new boss behind the bench. Our top three centres are out. And the game is in Buffalo.

I would of agreed with you at the start of last season. TO has been able to win there as of late. I am still hoping for one pt.

Oh dear.  I really don't like our chances tonight.  I think goaltending will be the difference tonight for the Buds.

I expect both McLaren and Orr will play tonight, so one of them can fight Scott and then have neither get a shift afterwards.

Leafs are going to lose 4-0

The Leafs bottom 6: 53 GP - 1G 3A 4P
The Leafs 2nd line: 41GP - 8G 6A 14P

The Leafs have 1 ES goal in 4 games.  The Leafs have 3 goals in 4 games.

I know the Leafs have lost 3 players up the middle but this is really revealing how bad out bottom 6 is.

Whether you like Orr or Mclaren in the line up is a mood point. I would rather have them in the line up with Scott because some one like Ashton or Fraser is not going to be able to handle him, which would likely cause  injury to either one of them.

I hope to see this:

Raymond-JVR-Kessel
Lupul-Smith-Clarkson
Ashton-McClement-Kulemin
McLaren-Smithson-Orr

Gunnarsson-Phaneuf
Gardiner-Franson
Fraser-Ranger

Reimer

Smith can be creative and score lets see what he can do with those two and I love the way McClement is playing defensively but 1 assist on the season. Lets go already.  Smithson McClement and Kulemin have been great on the pk.  The top line has the speed to succeed.

Didn't Orr fight him last year and actually won the fight? Couldnt reach his head so he gave him some body shots? lol

jonasTSN1050: Jonathan Bernier not on the ice for today's optional skate. Would indicate that he starts tonight in Buffalo.

jonasTSN1050: Randy Carlyle says Trevor Smith will be used in an offensive capacity tonight.

yay.

Does anyone ever really win a fight like that? I mean, it's not like they get extra ice time out of it or anything. Whatever "decision" is made in a fight is really meaningless.
