The attraction of Matthews or the two big Finns is to much to handle, we need one of them for sure.  So lose in competative fashion..please

Let's hope Novembernier shows up tonight.

Edit: or is that Octobernier we're after?

My son commented on the two big Finn forwards, forget how to spell there names, but  both of them reminded him of Malkin, and Austin Powers M. is not bad either.  All franchise changers for sure.  As much as I don't advocate tanking, losing whilst trying hard was sort of the plan. So much for plans.

Never mind the tank, San Jose needs to get points because Boston has their 1st round pick and the Sharks didn't get any conditions placed on it. The last thing I want is the Bruins to end up getting another top pick from another team (even though they'll only end up trading that player away with 5 years, but, nevertheless...).

Martin Jones - he of the .910 SV%

Also Kadri gets water skiied in front of the ref and they don't call it?  Maybe the NHL could improve scoring by having the refs pull their heads out of their rear ends.

It's always been something that confused me on plays like the Gardiner one.  He didn't really hold Wingels.  He skated to be parallel with him and then pushed him and he went down.  Why is that considered a hold and not a body check?  If it was along the boards it would be but because it's in open ice they call it a hold?

It's a little depressing how much HNIC has become indistinguishable from any of the other Rogers' broadcasts.

Yeah that penalty was silly.  It's like the refs call it because it's an offensive player going down on a high profile play.

More than a little.  I'm glad I started following the Leafs when the show was still in its prime.

I find it very sterile.  I get that TV is changing and how we watch it is changing too, but HNIC still had a level of importance to it.  Saturday night, at least in Canada, was hockey night.  It doesn't feel like it anymore with these awful Rogers broadcasts.
