i'd say 79-6 because one of kessel ends up wristing one so hard the puck tears in two ..thus two pucks cross the line counting for two goals...tim tomas literally explodes...turns out his insides were made of candy.

Boyes - 24 (points)

I assumed this had to be a typo, but wow, it's not.  That's three guys tying for the Florida team lead in points with 24 over 53 games.  That's a 37 point pace.  Who was the last guy to lead his team in scoring over a full season with as little as 37 points?  Anybody since, like, Howie Morenz or Joe Malone??

9.2% on the power play?

I just went through the NHL stats to see what the worst powerplay was. They go all the way to the 1997-1998 season and 9.2% would be the worst powerplay percentage in that period. Granted, it would just sneak under Tampa who were 9.3% in that 97-98 season. But typically speaking the worst PP team in a season was at about 13%. Since the lockout the lowest PP% was Chicago in 06-07 when they finished at 11.8%.

Their PP% in the month of January is 2.9%. They went 13 straight games from Dec 29-Jan 26 without a goal on the man advantage. They finally broke that slump in their last game against the Bruins.

I sense a reversion to the mean. 3 PP goals for the Panthers tonight.
