I get that Frattin wasn't meeting expectations this fall, but I thought they might give Carrick a shot on the 4th line instead of going out and acquiring a guy like Panik, but I guess I can't complain. The more talent in the cupboard, the more competition for jobs, and the better the team should become because of it.

The Leafs have generally played well against the Pens, and they are usually (or at least seem to be) high scoring affairs.

I'll go with 6-3 Leafs to give the team their first win on the season.

Sounds like Franson may be ready to play after all:

Franson in and Percy out ...pairings at practise might indicate such. #TMLtalk

Franson at his best is worth having in the lineup.  It was a great game from Percy in his debut but I'm not banking on repeat performances from him.  The problem is that Franson was rarely at his best last year and at times was completely awful.

I feel the same way, pretty much. Funny thing is I think a steady partner like Percy would be the best option for Franson, but obviously the team isn't going to bench Polak considering the price they paid to get him. That would also allow Phaneuf to move back to his usual side.

Sounds like Franson isn't a guarantee tonight. According to Carlyle, he's an option (which probably means he's in the lineup), but, it wouldn't surprise me if they hold him out until tomorrow.

Who's sitting Phaneuf? Robidas? Percy should stay in. Had a hell of a game. Bench the captain he didn't.

No they're going to bench Bernier because he had a poor game, maybe even waive him.

Yes Potvin only one game but I can guarantee you there will be a whole lot more.

Phanuf caught a bad edge, and Percy had a bad bounce. To be honest IMO a coach should not have a rookie on in a tied game with less then a min left. But that is just me. I honestly thought Reimer would of got the start this evening.

I hope this doesn't turn into last season were Reimer sits for 12-15 days and then is expected to start.  I still don't trust Bernier as a 60 game starter so I would really like to see them give Reimer starts that aren't significantly far apart so he's coming in extremely cold.

NEWS UPDATE
Franson (knee) was activated from injured reserve Saturday and appears likely to suit up against the Penguins, Jonas Siegel of TSN Radio 1050 reports.

ROTOWIRE FANTASY ANALYSIS
Coach Randy Carlyle said after Franson took part in morning skate that the defenseman would only be an option to play Saturday, but the Leafs likely wouldn't activate him from IR if they didn't plan on using him. Franson, who missed the team's first two games while dealing with the knee injury, is expected to pair up with Morgan Rielly.

Looks like he'll play. Too bad. I was hoping to see Percy again.

Two games? Media training camp hasn't finished?

Phaneuf Robidas
Gardiner Polak
Rielly    Franson

So far I think the Phaneuf left side experiment is off but I guess we'll see.

Reimer is still the only goalie they've had success in front and Carlyle / management whoever still almost refuse to give him an honest chance at being the #1 goalie again.
