Rangers (6) vs Bruins (4)

If there is one team among these two on who would outlast whom, I'd choose the Bruins.  Been there.  Done that.

Of course, it will be interesting to see how the Boston forwards will get by the Rangers' penchant for shot-blocking as well as "King" Henrik in goal.

This series may well serve  the Bruins netminder Tukka Rask as either his 'Achilles heel', or as his 'saving grace', against the Rangers offence (or whatever they throw at him, so to speak).

Expect a tough, hitting series with plenty of give & go.  (And maybe, a brawl or two).

Despite losing to them, I gained allot of respect for the Bruins.  Especially #17.  That's what the Leafs need.... a 17.

0 goals & 3 assists for Nash in 8 playoff games so far.  :-\

He's overrated.  Maybe not in international competition with stacked lines but I'm not a huge fan.  He's a 2nd tier star.

I still don't like Boston but am willing to give them their due respect & credit.  Players such as Lucic and Marchand are the reasons for my dislike of the Bruins, but then again, as you state, that #17 was a difference maker...

Bruins won the second game 5-2. Looks like this could be a short series. However, the Caps were also up 2-0 going back to New York, so....

I'd also like this to go 7 games.

Seriously. We could have definitely beaten New York. And with Pittsburgh's defence issues and Ottawa's inevitable defeat the East could have been ours.

Boston 2  New York 1  Bruins lead series 3 games to 0.

Truth is, Boston's fourth line outplayed the Rangers own first and second lines, and how many times does a fourth line outshine the opposition's best ones?  Don't ask New York coach Tortorella.  He doesn't have an answer to his team's woes right now.

The Rangers have not only their coach, but their fans up in arms with their lack of power play creativity.  Yes, shot-blocking, but a team needs goals to put up a score and make some semblance of their game.

Oh well, the Bruins figured it out as well as solving Lundqvist and bingo, they're on the verge of a sweep!  Wake up, Rangers!

I said as much after game 3 or 4 in our series and most of the other series, Boston was the best team in East by a considerable margin.

I hope Boston wins the cup this year. Not because I like them, but because we can say that yes, the Leafs lost terribly, but they lost against the Stanley Cup Champions. So far they're looking good.

If Toronto was good enough to beat the New York, they would have held that 4-1 lead against Boston. It just wasn't meant to be.

Because they had to win that game to play NY Rangers and they lost? Seems pretty obvious to me.

They're good enough to beat the Rangers I think. The statement They weren't good enough to get into the second round is entirely different.

Brad  Richards will be a healthy scratch for tonight's elimination game for the Rangers.

It's a good thing Burke wasn't successful in signing him.

EDIT: Also, when does it become apparent Tortorella just isn't that good of a coach?  How do you struggle to make the postseason fairly consistently/never go too far with a pretty good lineup and one of the best goalies in the league?  He's always had star players besides Lundqvist, not like it was just him and scrubs.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda. Stop torturing yourself.  8)
