Tampa takes game one 3-2. Drouin had a pretty great game. Abdelkader was running around like an idiot for a lot of the game.

Killorn/Kucherov/Johnson have already been named co-winners of the Conn Smythe.  wowzers

Either this series gets uglier, or Detroit does a complete turnaround.  That looks easier said than done.  Tampa Bay's speed & skill seems too much to handle for the Red Wings.

So far, it doesn't look like the Lightning are missing Steven Stamkos.

And oh, Jonathan Drouin is doing a decent job.

You have to figure considering how ineffective stamkos was in the playoffs last year, any success the team has now will pretty much finalize his departure. Going to be a really interesting offseason.

Haha Boyle could have knocked Abdelkader's block off there.  But gotta credit Abdelkader for clobbering Killorn after they ran Kronwall.

This be nasty.

This nastiness only helps the team either the Lightning or Detroit plays in the next round.  They're burning each other out, not to mention injuring one another, with all this stupidity.

The heel of the Tampanian boot is pressing down on the wings of the Red Necks necks of the Red Wings.

Lightning defeat Red Wings 3-2, (and a 3 games to 1 seres lead), on Jonatan Drouin's three assists on the night, and Ondrej Palat's perfect shot in front of Detroit goaltender Peter Mrazek.  Palat's goal proved the game- winner in the third period.

While the Lightning made the most of their power-play opportunities, Detroit's power-play & special teams were dreadful.  The 'Wings did indeed come-from-behind from a 2-0 deficit, only to have Tampa Bay score and 'keeper Bishop preserve the victory.

Game 5 goes Thursday in Tampa Bay.

Callahan with the great effort on the SWG.

They didn't play great tonight but winning a series in 5 is pretty impressive for the Lightning when you consider they're missing Stamkos and Stralman. Johnson was having some injury issues throughout the game, they better hope he's not hurt like he ended up being last year.

Well, congratulations Tampa Bay!  :)

It looks like you really don't need Stamkos to win a playoff series.  Hmmmmm.  ::)

Tamap Bay 1  Detroit 0.  Lightning win series 4 games to 1.

For the second consecutive year, the Tampa Bay Lightning have eliminated  the Detroit Red Wings from further playoff contention.

The Lightning's goalkeeper Ben Bishop proved himself the difference in Game 5, stopping several Wings on breakaways, and being an overall headache for Detroit players to figure him out.

These playoffs may also signal the end of a career for Red Wings stalwart veteran Pavel Datsyuk, who has hinted he may return to his native Russia.  No word of confirmation on that yet, though.

Good job by the Lightning, who are missing star forward Steven Stamkos.  Tampa Bay's lines consisting of the likes of Kutcherov, Killhorn, Johnson and Jonathan Drouin proved their mettle against a Detroit team valiantly keeping up with the Lightning's speed & skills.

Congrats to both the Lightning and Red Wings on a series well played. Not to menrion hard-hitting and exciting.
