Didn't see anything on the Superbowl on the site. Just one comment on the game. It became clear that the Bronco's defense was going to swarm Newton from the start, they blitzed a lot of linebackers and Carolina did a terrible job of adjusting.
Perhaps growing up watching the CFL where so many great black quarterbacks have played, Holloway, Moon etc. and perhaps our style of play could have dictated necessary changes for the Panthers.
Why do they keep Newton in drop back after drop back pass formations. Newton is a stud, could probably start as a running back for most teams. The frustration of not seeing him roll out to evade the rush, giving him time to find his receivers or even better cart the ball with his speed is beyond me.
They did the same thing time after time and didnt learn it wasnt working.
I would have had him start rolling to the short side and trying a few runs himself. Newton would be the best quarterback in the CFL as he is a protypical run and shoot kind of player. To have him in striclty drop back should make him consider signing with a run and gun team.
Also what was it with the running game where it appeared he was banging into his backs on almost every hand off? That didnt work either. Kudo's to the Bronco's, they deserved to win.
