The CBC reaches a new....middle, I guess.

Tired of watching hockey games with sportscasters who actually want to talk about hockey? Or are you one of them lady-types who really want to know if Henrik Lundqvist is as dreamy as he seems? Well, the CBC has the broadcast feed for you

While the Men Watch to debut at Stanley Cup finals

Here's a sample quote from their blog over at the CBC:

In all seriousness, there is no shortage of talented female sportscasters out there who we respect.  We just think it's more fun to talk about why so many gorgeous players come from Welland Ontario and why they all skate around with scotch tape holding up their socks.

Seriously, between crap like this, comparing hockey players to first responders on 9/11 and the continued employment of Don Cherry I'm gradually reaching a point where I'd be fine with the CBC losing HNIC.

Given that I don't care about who wins the final, this might actually be funny to listen to.  Don't have to take everything so seriously.

I don't mind this. Sports are entertainment and if an alternate take on commentary is entertaining for some people, fine by me.

I don't have a problem with it, I just don't understand it.  Who is this for?  Women who don't like hockey but do want to watch the finals?  I guess there's a market there for that.  But I figure most women that don't like hockey probably won't want to watch hockey, no matter what the commentators are talking about.  Why not just watch an episode of The View?

I'm a lady who loves hockey, and I'm not stupid.  I've got a brain, maybe not quite the body  ;D  (well, that depends), do think some hockey players are incredibly handsome  :D  while others look more like lawyers or teachers or professors (definitely not like hockey players), think hockey is a cool game to get to know (for the novice fan), And, well, now....would I qualify for a CBC female sportscastor posting??!!  :) :D ;D

Oh, never mind...

I'd much rather get "a woman's point of view" from women who know and love the game, maybe a couple already on the CBC payroll such as Andi Petrillo and Cassie Campbell-Pascal.

Wonder if the guys will have a shot at equality during Women's Ice Hockey at Sochi?

My guess is that if a legitimate media program actually put together a "let's talk about who is hot during Women's hockey" program that the Heather Mallick's of the world would burn down the CBC for being sexist.
