The Walking Wounded (Summer edition)

I figured we needed a place to update all the injured players.

Remember, Lupul's and Kulemin's seasons ended early (I haven't heard anything since?) and now we hear that Colborne needs wrist surgery, Kadri has a grade 3 shoulder separation and Frattin a torn mensicus; all 3 with extended recovery times this summer.

So this is the latest we have up to this point:

Colborne will rehab back home in Calgary with the goal of being ready for next September's training camp.

Colborne joins Matt Frattin, who has already had surgery to repair torn meniscus, while Nazem Kadri said on Monday that he missed the Calder Cup final with a separated shoulder. Frattin plans to be back in September, along with Colborne while Kadri said his injury should be healed within a week or two
.

So lets update this thread anytime we hear or read anything regarding any of the injuries.

The interesting thing about the thn Colborne article was that it reminded us of the hot start he had, presumably before the wrist injury settled in.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that the injury is what really held him back, and that, after proper repair & rehab, he'll surprise us out of camp and make the team.  IMO he is our most intriguing forward prospect.

Frattin's injury shouldn't hold him up too bad, not sure about Colborne and from what Kadri said about his recovery I'm not sure his shoulder separation was as bad as a grade 3, fwiw.

It is kind of mind blowing that our best 3 forward prospects are banged up that bad though.

What intrigues me about Colbourne is not only his talent level, but the fact he may be able to provide a physical dimension to one of the top-six lines.  I'd be so freaking excited if he could center Lupul and Kessel and destroy the defensive tactics teams figured out against them.

Kulemin played in the World Championships, did he not?

Kulemin did indeed play for Russia at the WC. So I would think that if it was anything more than a very minor injury, the Leafs wouldn't have allowed him to go in the first place.
