wedding band - what do you think?

yay or nay?

I am not much of a jewellery guy but I have been married for 7 years and I haven't worn one. I have been thinking about it though. What do you guys think? Absolutely yes or it's up to the guy or in today's day and age its so 90s?

My wife hasn't mentioned it btw.

I work allot with my hands.  Pulled my hand out of the glove and noticed my finger going purple.  Somehow I crushed my wedding band and it was cutting circulation off.  Didn't even feel it.

do other women think less of men who don't wear wedding bands? that somehow I don't wear one because I am always looking to flirt or "looking"...

Yay. I feel naked if I'm not wearing it when I go out or to work. I take it off at night and when I play sports.

Personally, I feel awkward from a social perspective if I don't wear it.

Mine's been at the bottom of Lake Simcoe for a few years now (lost it.) I haven't felt the need OR the pressure from my wife to replace it.

is that what's poisoning our fish!?

seriously though, mc. If you want one, get one. What everyone thinks or wants doesn't matter. Except maybe the missus.

My wife and I don't where ours. This is because we think we may have accidentally built them into a wall when we renovated the kitchen.  :D

I'm going to take off the baseboards and drill some holes eventually.

I wore mine for a few years but always had trouble getting used to it. It would be loose in the winter and then tight in the summer. I liked how it looked though, just a simple Lord of the Rings style band.

I haven't had my band on in ten years.  Industry requires that I remove it for safety reasons and I always worry about losing it when I take it off.

One thing I am seriously thinking about is tattooing a band on.  I don't like tattoos for the most part but my head can get around the practicality of a tattooed wedding band.

Similar story for me.  I remember walking my dogs on a really cold day, no gloves on, and I was throwing sticks and kongs and such for them to retrieve.  I cam back home and - poof - no ring.  We replaced the original with an even nicer one and I'm reluctant to wear it.  Now, some years later, I'm just out of the habit completely.

Wife and myself are pretty traditional we both wear our wedding bands.  I would feel weird not having it on, like something is missing.  It all depends on you and how you feel, there's no right or wrong.

If you haven't worn one for this long and your wife doesn't care, I wouldn't go get one now.  Just another thing to try to not lose!

Susan and I renewed our vows for our 25th wedding anniversary last Tuesday.  My line of work as a Producer allows me to wear my wedding band so like Peter I have actually felt naked without it.

2 things cool about the ceremony was 1) that our children, grandchildren and my father...who yes looks like Santa and is a Reverend...were part of the ceremony and 2) people were questioning if Mrs. Bulldog was even 25.  ;)

<tmlfans check over their shoulder to see if their wives are looking... close window and breath a sigh of relief>

Way to make us all look bad, frog... Seriously though, well done.

Look at me Dr B L.  It takes quite a bit to tick me off. Bullfrog is a decent fellow so you could have called me worse.  :)
