Windows 10

Has anyone upgraded yet? Any thoughts?

I have a Surface Pro 3 and upgraded it last night. I've only noticed one small glitch: when I open an app, my volume button stops functioning. I was going to wait until the first service pack came out, but I was interested. I'll hold off upgrading my two office computers for the time being while I play around with it (have to confirm full compatibility for my modeling software first).

I never had a problem with the start screen design, but I do have to say having one desktop has made me pay more attention to the apps I've downloaded. Normally I'd go straight into desktop mode so I'd forget about some of the cooler apps I had downloaded.

I haven't tried out Microsoft Edge yet, still using Google Chrome. Edge sounds like it's got potential, but is in its infancy. I don't Bing, so I'll probably give it a try.

I'm hoping the widespread adoption of Windows 10 will provide incentive for app developers to make Windows versions of their apps, which to me is one of the biggest problems.

Windows 8.1 was great for tablets and touch screens, but pretty well useless for desktops. I essentially just used it as Windows 7.

I have been using Windows 10 beta since around January off and on, on another laptop.  I did install the release version last night on my everyday laptop.  So far have no issues to report, everything seems to work.  It feels much faster than 8.1.

Only tried Edge briefly.  It seems to bring up pages faster than Chrome.

Yes, the task bar and icons are tiny on my Surface. But they display flawlessly. Just tiny. Really tiny.

The Windows 10 wave hasn't hit me yet.  I'm interested by it.  A co-worker has installed it and it looks like desktop / tablet phone UI split was successful.
