The FAN is reporting that Brian Burke is in attendence at the negotiating meeting tonight starting at 7.

I hope every time Crosby tries to ask Burke something, he replies with "Pittsburgh model? My ass."

Kris Versteeg said something stupid? Is today one of those days that ends in "y"?

Psssst, hey Kris.... the guys you have such disdain for represent the people who are paying you nearly $30 million.  Every time this guy opens his mouth I like him even less.

reporterchris: Bill Daly says the NHL has requested a full proposal from the NHLPA. In his view, they still haven't seen one.

KatieStrangESPN: #CBA Bill Daly said league has requested a formal proposal from the union. Union is considering that now, and two sides will confer in am

NYDNRangers: Bill Daly: @NHL asked @NHLPA to form full proposal to clarify its positions, and tomm AM he will be in touch w union about scheduling a mtng

NYDNRangers: Daly says league needs @NHLPA to "clarify" its positions on $$, which as articulated tonight has not changed

NYDNRangers: Daly emphasizes that owners absolutely will not accept a $$ proposal that guarantees an amount of revenue to players, compared to % of pie

drosennhl: To clarify, Daly said the NHL wants to hear a full economic proposal from the NHLPA, one that covers all the issues.

drosennhl: "We think it's all tied together and we'd like to hear it all together," Daly said.

drosennhl: Daly said he believes that is what NHLPA left to discuss, but he's not sure that NHL will receive a full proposal from the NHLPA this week.

‏drosennhl Daly: "If their proposal continues to be a guaranteed amount of players' share dollars we have told them that sitting here on Nov. 19...

drosennhl Daly cont.: "that's not a proposal that is acceptable to us or would ever be acceptable to our owners right now."

Burke's on the case?  Stand by for a breakthrough.

The PA is standing firm on demanding 50 percent of revenues but Burke will apply his savvy negotiating skills and get them to accept 60.

C'mon now, the man is obviously suffering and under a lot of pressure.

He's probably sweating that next payment he has to make on his $150k Audi.

I guess I'm just a hopeless na?f, but I would have thought both parties in a negotiation that has been going on for 60 days already presented their proposal as a complete package, in writing.  Isn't that, like, Step One?

Considering that a big chunk of the PA's position is "The same as it used to be" it doesn't seem to be all that necessary.

Don't worry.. on Wednesday, Fehr will again have some fresh new ideas to propose, written on the back of 3 ... no wait, 2 napkins.  Just like last time. The 3rd idea doesn't need a napkin because it's just way too new, man.

Has anyone around here heard what Daly has to say about all this? ;)

If/when Fehr says something that actually provides some new information, clarity or position, I promise that will get posted as well.

Yes, and then they'll take a hardline stance stating 'these proposals go to 11'.
