Why would Edm to that. His cap hit is 2 mil less, and 5 years younger. I would not mind one bit.

So, even if the return isn't huge, moving him could very well be the best move for the team's future. That being said, this year's UFA crop is pretty middling, and the cap could increase enough for it not to be a necessity this summer. That will really depend on what other moves the team may have lined up.

I agree with the cap space, and wonder if moving him would free up some $$ to resign Franson. I'm also curious about Panik's ceiling, and whether he could eventually replace Lupul.
