2015 NHL Entry Draft - Draft Day!

McKenzie and others saying that 3rd overall pick is definitely in play. I know we hear stuff like that every year but it actually sounds like something could be up this time.

Do we have anything they'd be interested in?
E.g. Kessel and a good prospect for salary dump and the third overall?
Don't think so, they will be as bad as the Leafs next year, don't need to add an elite score to the mix.

Also, the early rumors today is that Boston offered Their 1st and Dougie Hamilton for the 3rd overall.

i don't get the impression that the leafs care about moving up to third. not from what limited stuff i've read.  if mirtle is correct they're not as high on strome as most tend to be.

Some talk on Twitter about Boston being in the mix for the 3rd pick and that they would take Hanifin.

They'd get rid of Hamilton to take
Hanifin?  Sounds like a spelling correction to me.

That's what I thought, but think I recall seeing something yesterday about them wanting a good roster player/scorer for the pick.

It kinda seems like the Kessel situation again. The Bruins and Hamilton aren't speaking the same language at the negotiating table, and so Boston would rather trade him than open themselves up to an offer sheet.

Barring any dramatic draft oder shakeup, I'll guess:
4. Mitch Marner
24. Jeremy Roy/Noah Juulsen/Oliver Kylington (whoever is available)

My guess is Hanifin at 4 and Sprong at 24. Arizona takes Strome. If someone trades with Arizona I think it'll be Hanifin at 3 and we'll grab Marner. Don't think that will change the 24 pick.

This isn't exactly breaking news, but according to Mirtle the Leafs camp is divided between Marner and Hanifin, you can obviously guess who wants who:

It sure is going to be interesting to watch and see if this management structure can really exist over the next few years.

It's not breaking news as you say but knowing that they've narrowed it down to those two, that the Leafs will wind up with one of them, that's good by me. Land a good high-upside guy at #24 to boot and that's about as well as you could have hoped for this draft to turn out, even if it looks a little like the rest of the league is fairly unexcited about trading for what the Leafs have to offer.

I'm kind of really hoping Arizona stays at 3 and takes Strome just so we can see how Shanny breaks the supposed tie.

I mean, not to put too fine a point on it but wasn't the idea that Hunter was running the draft? Isn't that what Babcock said?
