Game Notes
COL
-Mackenzie Blackwood (23-16-5, 2.50 GAA, .915 Sv%) will likely start for the Avalanche
-Colorado had a VERY active trade deadline week bringing in Ryan Lindgren, Jimmy Vesey, Erik Johnson, Charlie Coyle, and Brock Nelson. That's of course in addition to two large moves they made earlier in the season bringing in Martin Necas and Mackenzie Blackwood
TOR
-Anthony Stolarz (13-5-3, 2.21 GAA, .925 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
-Barring travel complications the Leafs are expected to have brand new Leafs Scott Laughton and Brandon Carlo in the line-up on Saturday night. Where they'll play and what that means for the rest of the line-up is obviously a little unknown so the projected line-up could certainly change

Tanev not playing? I thought I read he was coming back in.

Both teams with newbies down the middle ... could be a high-scoring affair. Yeah, the Avs' centers look impressive.

I'll be mostly psyched to see how Carlo looks. On paper that's our best top 4 D in years (when Tanev is back).

He practiced as the 7D on Friday and Berube called him doubtful still. So probably misses another game.

So I never have time to listen to podcasts but I did just dip in to the MLHS analysis of yesterday. Petrielli is saying — rightly — Captain asked for the team to be bolstered, Tre did his part. Now it's back over to you, Captain Auston. Start playing like a MacKinnon: an animal, bursting through walls, not taking no for an answer.

It would be nice if we could see him start flashing that tonight. In fairness, though, I'm not sure he can, physically. At least I have to (perversely) hope he HAS been playing hurt, because if he hasn't been, then we have a real serious problem.
