Bernier

It doesn't really seem like he's worrying about cars at all short of having an expensive one.

Worried, literally or figuratively..... which one did I use? Does he look worried? Hell no. I mean why should he? Hes got 4M reasons not to, for now ...all I have to say is... I hope its a lease

Again, I must be missing something here.

A) He has a car that, while expensive, he can easily afford to buy outright
B) He's not playing all that well

I don't see the connection.

Rich athlete in mid-20s spends money on expensive car! In other news, the sky is blue, water is wet and today ends in Y.

So is the implication that we'd be happier with Bernier's play if he bought a less nice car? Or that he should save his money because his play will lead to a pay cut on his next contract?

Because this is basically the equivalent to someone making sixty thousand a year spending, like, forty-five hundred on a car. Except not that because there are still millions left over.

This is ridiculous.

It's going to be a long season. The Leafs are going to be bad. Players on the Leafs are going to be bad. It's becoming apparent some people aren't prepared to deal with that gracefully.

I mean I get that the exact situation is a little new, but we should all basically be used to that part.

Yeah. I think a lot of people are too used to the Leafs being bad not being so obviously intentional. They don't know how to adjust.

[The] Leafs officially enlisted the services of puck-tracking guru Lyle Mast in September. He worked unofficially with Toronto?s goaltending duo of Jonathan Bernier and James Reimer in the summer in Kelowna, B.C.

[...]

Mast is the founder of Optimum Reaction Sports and his goaltending theory is based on the idea of head trajectory.

?Head trajectory impacts the ability to efficiently execute every aspect of your training, development and game play, based on your setup. It empowers the athlete to train on the values of efficiency versus just speed and seeing the puck versus just looking at it,? Optimum Reaction?s website states. ?It exposes the difference between being able versus unable to execute your save and post-save responses, eliminating delays.?

Head Trajectory was recently highlighted in this NHL.com article regarding Dubnyk's revitalization.
