Game Notes
CHI
-Arvid Soderblom (7-12-5, 3.01 GAA, .906 Sv%) will start for the Hurricanes
-Chicago is also playing their 2nd game in 2 nights on Sunday. They lost 5-1 against the Blue Jackets in Columbus
TOR
-Joseph Woll (19-11-0, 2.65 GAA, .909 Sv%) will start for the Leafs

Good opportunity to creat a bit more space in the playoff races. They SHOULD beat this Chicago team. Both teams playing a back to back. Both teams playing with travel.

We play Boston on Tuesday who are banged up without McAvoy and then a flawed Rangers team before a miserable 15 games in March with three back to backs (all with travel) and two western conference road trips (Colorado/Vegas/Utah) and (La/Anaheim/San Jose)

We are one point back of Florida with two games in hand. Good chance to retake first in the division. First in the East is pretty much wrapped up for Washington so getting home ice in the first round would be nice at least.

Now look: I'm not saying that Connor Bedard is the next Nail Yakupov. But he doesn't seem to be the next Connor Bedard!!! either, at least so far.

Then again, looking at his wingers ...

The team Connor Bedard plays for is abysmal! His line mates are Slaggert and Doanto??? Going to be hard to have success when the other teams best line can match up against them.

I do wonder is Bedard is best suited as a winger in the NHL, but he needs some support to show his worth.

Why can this not be a 1pm ET face off. Nobody wants a Sunday evening game.

(I know the fact both played last night is probably why, I just wanted a selfish suitable uk face off time)

I mean in comparison:

Auston Matthews first two seasons: 144GP 74G 58A 132P
Connor Bedard's first two seasons: 124GP 38G 72A 110P

The rest of the 2023 draft class as a combined 296 points so far.

I think the criticism of a Bédard is a bit unfair because of how dreadful their roster is

Shots are 7-1 Hawks but my god ridiculous what they are counting as shots. They just counted that as a shot Leafs D botched it by the net and Woll smothered it. That’s 2 shots I’ve counted that were not shots.

I don’t care what the score is or was Bérubé should have called a timeout at some point and lambasted these guys. Matthews MIA again.
No. You don't call a time out there. I've said it before, you only have so many bullets in the chamber to blast the players before it loses it's effectiveness. 34 and 16 get a pass. 3rd game in 4 nights and travel between every game.
