Brodeur on a try-out with STL... 1/27: Announces retirement

So not quite assistant GM, he'll basically be an assistant coach with no real responsibilities.

Bascially, he's taking the role of having recent on-ice experience, which could be helpful, but is likely not going to have much impact.

To Brian Elliott: "If you feel like your skills are slipping as you get older, make sure not to go out gracefully but pout and act like you should still be a starter in the league despite every stat saying otherwise.  Take it from an old pro like me."

Gotta say though, it's impressive he had at least 1 shutout in 21 different NHL seasons.

21 straight NHL seasons. The only season he didn't record a shutout was in his 1st 4 game exposure to the league.

Yeah, I should have worded that like you did.  Really impressive.

I find it amusing that he threw a temper tantrum over Schneider in New Jersey.  As much as I will remember him for the productive years, that really soured me on him.
