So far this team is reminding me of the 2009-10 Leafs (I think that's the year I'm thinking of) - a team that played well enough and often enough in the opposition's end but didn't have the offensive talent to finish enough of their chances and didn't have the goaltending to make up for offensive shortcomings.

Kadri has 32 shots on net, and 1 goal.  That's an unsustainably low SH%.

I think Babcock might be harder on some of these guys than Carlyle got criticized for...I'm not sure that Holland is the guy that should be sitting.

Babcock mentioned that Holland is slotting back in, to be determined by what happens in practice today (resting ailments, etc.).

Do you give Holland an opportunity to come back in Monday?

Holly will get an opportunity I'm pretty sure to come back. We'll see what happens the rest of the day as far as injuries go and go from there.

He's 8th in the entire league in shots on goal, while playing 1 less game than everyone ahead of him. Averaging 4.56 shots per game, last season he averaged 2.4 shots per game.

So, has Boedker officially been renamed Bpedler now? Or is their 2nd leading goalscorer no long on the team? ;D

It's part of my newly introduced "Pick out CtB's Semi-Regularly Scheduled Spelling Error!". And you won! Your prize is, uh, this pen!

Nice. I always wanted that, uh, pen.

Some notes from practice:

-Reimer will get the start
-Spaling is out with an injury, so Holland will play instead
-Gardiner and Bozak are both eyeing a Friday return

I doubt whether Reimer is the long-term answer either, but he needs at least one reasonably long string of games under Babcock as a matter of fairness.  Also, Bernier has been his usual maddeningly inconsistent self and it's costing me a small fortune in stress.

I'm looking forward to seeing Max Domi.  The kid is having a great start...

He and Duclair will surely slow down a little scoring-wise, but seeing their impact early on makes me even more excited for next season when Marner and Nylander get here.

I'm interested in seeing Domi tonight.  On a related note, can someone refresh my memory as to why the Leafs didn't pick until #21 in the 2013 draft?  Could have had a chance to draft Domi if the Leafs had a higher pick.

Edit: oh nevermind, it was after that strike year and the Leafs actually made the playoffs...

Because we got into the playoffs only to have our hopes dashed in a very Leafian fashion?

Becaus they made the playoffs as a #5 seed.

Wasn't that the year they lost to the Bruins in the 1st round?

If it was they likely had the 5th best record of the 8 teams eliminated in the first round.

CtB, you jipped the Leafs a loser point up top as well. What do I win??  I'll take the refill out of that pen, unless you've got some lint-covered Granny candy in your pocket.  :P

Not that I think you mean it in a really bad way, but that term isn't particularly politically correct anymore and you might want to drop it.
