Eastern Conference Final: Boston vs. Carolina

I think I hate Boston more than I like the Leafs.

I hate the way their entire system is built around diving and getting cheap powerplays. I hate the way they are allowed to run interference without getting called for it because ?that?s Boston hockey?.

Their style and the way it is condoned by the league - alongside the numerous game-changing calls (or non-calls) this playoffs - is symptomatic of a bad trend in the NHL.

The Bruins lost 3 games to the Leafs and only 2 games the rest of the way to the Stanley Cup final.

My hatred runs deep .  :o

Sweep of the team that swept the team that swept the team.

Yup. Also, another weird quirk of these playoffs - when a team has played more games in the previous round than their opponent, they have won every time.

It's disappointing that the Bruins' toughest test on their way to the Cup was the Leafs.  I just can't see either of St. Louis or San Jose stopping them at this point.

I truly believe the Leafs blew a golden opportunity these playoffs.

I wouldn't bet against a team with two Norris-calibre defencemen on it.

The Sharks are also a much strong offensive team than Carolina or Columbus. Add in a little motivation to see Thornton win the Cup against his former team, and, yeah, I wouldn't bet against them, either.

If the Leafs can somehow avoid drawing the freaking Bruins every damn 1st round of the playoffs, maybe they'd win a bloody round or two for once.

Seriously how do the 2 best teams in the East face each other in the first round.  This is just another reason the NHL is a clown league.

Like I said before the series started, and I'm sure not the only one: a conference-final caliber match-up in the first round.

That's what happens with the new structure. The series tend to get weaker as it goes along. It's all about getting through that first round. Leafs were much better then both CBJ and the Canes.

I agree 100%, the regular season has only one purpose and only one reward - make the playoffs. Well, other than actually playing games and getting tuned of course :)

I actually don't mind the Leafs getting knocked out early, if they're not gonna go all the way. Bell and Rogers have enough of my money already! :)
