Game 14 - Bruins @ Leafs - Saturday November 5th, 2011 - 19:00 EST - 7-0 L

Also, it looks like Ron Wilson is Mo'vembering. So he gets a couple points in my book.

I think starting Scrivens is probably the better decision from a media savvy sense. If he started Gus and Gus got shelled
Really, because when Gus got shelled by them, it was a sign that he is terrible and he can only win against bad teams.  Maybe that should be the case for Scrivens.  If he loses tonight, he's useless and we need a new #3 goaltender.

Looking for logic or the fair application of a consistent standard from the Monster-baiters is like looking for Bigfoot. If it was going to be found, we'd have made a rug out of it already.

To be a baiter you have to go against the norm in order to anger the mob.  The general consensus is that Gus is no good.

The standard has been equally applied in all things Monster.

Anyone else watching the pregame and have an opinion on the Briere shootout goal? Certainly looked like forward motion stopped and the puck was actually being drawn back before he scored.

lc9, I don't dislike you and, outside of your being entirely wrong and unreasonable about Gus, I have no quarrel with you specifically so ask yourself this carefully, do you really want to say I'm wrong about the definition of a word or my usage of it?

I don't like it. He came to a complete stop, and, as far as I'm concerned, that means the puck was no longer heading towards to net - a little bit of stick-handling doesn't change that in my mind. At that point, he should have either had to shoot or forfeit his chance, not skate off to the side first . . . but, a precedent has now been set, so, I guess I'll have to learn to accept it.

No good could mean average.  Let us be specific here; he is a bad goalie that lets in atleast one soft goal a night and has a GAA of 3.61.  If he ever gets his GAA to around 2 and his save percentage to over 0.900 then I will say he is a good goalie.  From a fairly applied and consistent standard the Monster is a bad goalie.

So then in the majority of his games Reimer has also been a bad goalie this year?

What does one have to do with the other?

Reimers number over 6 games is : 2.58 gaa and 0.912 save percentage.  Yeah, he has had bad games but he is playing well overall.  If his numbers go down I would say he is a bad goalie.

It would be the fair and consistent application of the standard. If a save percentage that isn't above .900 and a GAA of 3 or over makes for a bad goalie then Reimer, in four of his six starts, has those numbers.

So if Gus is a bad goalie for having those numbers, then Reimer has been bad in the majority of his games.

It has plenty to do with it; if your sole intention is to make people on the internet look contradictory, illogical or wrong.  If you know Nik it makes perfect sense.

Scrivens was an interesting choice for tonight. He was good last game but you have to think that Gus has a bit of a slow burn on over the decision.

Getting huffy and personal about a very simple question kind of solidifies what I'm saying.

To think about it in another way, if you goalie lets in an average of 3 and a half goals a game, then your offense will have to average 4 goals a game to win consistently.  Unless your a top offensive team, that isn't going to happen.

The Leafs however score those goals so I do not see a problem

That was lame the Bruin player turned right into that 'hold'

I guess Crabb could have quickly dropped his stick but still lame
