Game 16: Leafs @ Panthers - 7:30Pm, SNET-O, FS-F

For some reason, I am starting to believe we will win from game to game. this is a rare but nice feeling being a Leafs fan. if we can win 3 of 4 this week, I think you will start to see the Leaf feaver spread like wild fire.

Tonight I'm calling out the grabbo line, we need there help while the Kessel line is Injured. step it up boys.

I'm not worried as much about Grabs and company scoring if they're being the big shutdown unit.  But maybe against Florida, they'll get a little more offense going as they don't have to shutdown as much.

Its really very simple: if we play the game we played when we shut down Montreal and then beat up on Philly, we will lose very few games.

If we play the game we have seen in the Carolina games and I will even say the Ottawa game, we won't win many games.

Florida is tough, young, fast, and have given the Leafs fits in the last couple years. I expect this to be a battle. Leafs could very well lose this one if they remotely think for a second they weren't lucky as hell to shut out Ottawa on Saturday.

they scored 5 goals on us in every game and basically beat the hell out of us. we  have not reason to be overconfident. I wish Frattin was back...any word on him???

not that other teams aren't also missing personal but i still think it's important to note that the team that played philly and montreal had two more bodies ....so even if they do come out flat.or continue to have issues i'm still willing to think some of that's about who they can ice.  the leafs aren't the deepest team in the league and once you have orr getting third line minutes (not that i have anything against orr) i think you know there are going to be some limitations to what they can accomplish.

i don't need anything pretty here, any win that doesn't cost us any more injuries will do..and if they do lose I'm not sure i'll take that as a message about the leafs this year...we're going to need to get a bit luckier on the injury front

Gunnarsson activated off the IR and available for selection tonight.

Now carrying 8 dmen on the 23 man roster.

if they are looking for a trade partner they should talk to Detroit.  They have injuries on defense and they seem to like ex-leafs defensemen.

The question is, how to make room for 2 Dmen. (Gunnarsson and Gardiner)

I see Liles, Holzer and Kostka (the latest 2 can be send down) the ones as baits/Marlies

However, Holzer is playing good, Kostka is in a trusted role by RC, Liles is not a bad D.

The deep D chart (IMHO):

Phaneuf - Gunnarsson
Gardiner - Holzer
Franson - Fraser (ain't broken, why fix it??)

Kostka/Liles as extras/trade baits.

Komisarek (not sure what to do here)

I don't think they will call Gardiner up until they fix this crowd situation on D as reports indicated that Gardiner is back in his old form, but can only play 2 more games before he has to clear waves to be sent down.

Who do we want off of Detroit's roster?

Wo do we want off of Detroit's roster?

We want Franzen ! Then Carlyle can ice a line with Franzen, Franson, Frattin and Fraser to make Jim Hughson earn his money.

as per Jonas Siegel, it appears that Gunnarsson is back on Liles spot.

~8.4 million in D sitting in the press box, I suppose it's fitting they can hang out with Burke (and his 3 million/year or so?) up there.  ::)
