+3 pretty good stuff. For all the time I've been on his case I'd love to see him find some consistency again.
Neal and Malkin -3

I don't care how the team wins. I don't care if Reimer plays shaky or the D gives up some chances or some players aren't scoring as long as they can still pull off a win.
The whole seems to be greater than the sum of their parts so far this season and I am willing to look past some blemishes as long as we stay competitive, and so far we have done that.

The guys Carlyle calls out step up.
So they go into Pittsburgh, overcome allowing two stoppable goals, and soundly beat a team that in my opinion before tonight, was playing about as well as any in the NHL. Heck of a win.
Heck. Of. A. Win.

you can imagine why people are hesitant though..last season they were competitive..right up until it mattered...and i think we can agree it doesn't matter yet ..i know the cliche about the points at the start being worth the same as those at the end..but really it seems teams to reach a second gear nearer the playoffs..and until we see the leafs get that gear..i'm still going to be really ..really tentative .... still though..great start...i hope they can build on it

February 2011 - so, not all that long ago, but, still a little surprising. That stretch was actually 3 straight with 1 or less non-shootout goals.

Im hoping lupes isn't gone for too long. Fingers crossed.
Reimer looked good when he had too be. Two shaky goals, but they were against Crosby and malkin so a bit of a pass may be warranted.
Kostka Phaneuf and komi were all strong today. Didn't notice much of Liles which I guess is a good thing. Gardiner skating well but looked a little rusty. He'll be back to his normal self in no time.
JVR - welcome to Toronto!
