Happy Free Agency Day!

I think Iginla would be a minimum 2 year deal, and I'd still be interested at that.

I wouldn't be against going 2 years on him (depending on the cap hit), either, but, I wouldn't go longer than that.

Yes, it also means he'll hold up and likely not miss a chunk of the season. That sort of reliability is not a bad thing. Probably comes out even with "Lupul scores 1.8 ppg (when he plays)."

I'd still pass. If I'm paying a guy 3 million to be on the third line he'd better be a more versatile player than Mac is. If you've got a crummy top 6 he's an upgrade but nah, nothing beyond that.

I'd guess that it would take $10m over 2 years.

Leafs apparently closing in on deal with Bozak, sources suggest.

TSNBobMcKenzie: Not done quite yet but TOR closing in on David Clarkson and re-signing Tyler Bozak.

Blargh.

You knew it was going to happen.

If the Bozak deal isn't stupid long or high, I'm fine with him coming back.  Still need a #1 centre.

Brad Boyes > MacArthur

He's a guy I've been hoping we pick up.

Why?

Good opportunity for price/performance.

48 GP, 10G 25A, 35PTS last year for 1 M.  He would fit nicely in our open 2nd line RW position, could probably be had for < 3M, and would probably register 25G, 60 PTS.

I don't think Boyes will come close to matching those numbers TBH. He was really just there for the ride with Tavares.

That makes more sense to me.  My point with the 1-year is that we aren't going to be contending this season.
