Happy Free Agency Day!

I haven't checked the cap situation but as it starts to crunch league wide I don't know how much more than 2 he'll get. I really have no idea what you might get Blum for.

That cap hit for Gordon just slays me, MacT sure wanted him.

I think Raymond is probably worth 2.5-3.5 on the market, maybe I'm wrong. Blum would probably come on a decent hit, to get another chance to stick in the NHL. But T.J Brennan's name has been out there for the Leafs, not sure how much truth there is to that.

Mac T is a new GM, he'll learn quick, especially if he spends money like that, with as many players as he has to sign in the coming years me thinks.

Maybe when the market first opened but now I don't think Raymond will get that, could be wrong.

If the Leafs could flip Liles and bring in Blum for a third of the cap hit I'd be ok with it.

Horton says he wanted "a quieter place"...is this want you want
to hear from a $$$$ free agent??

Maybe not but A) to some extent playing in Columbus is going to be that anyway so it being the reason or not anyone who signs there at the very least would have to be ok with that and B) I think Columbus has been a little underrated as a hockey market. I think that if they had a good team they'd have legit fan support.

Did I hear correct - Bobby Ryan to OTT!?!?!?!

Yup, no details yet.

Are we to assume the Leafs are done for today...?

Given how it went, you'd better hope so.

Just wondering what moves you would have been behind?

McArthur, Gordon, Scuderi/Ference... players that actually address team needs and come as better price performers than the big-ticket bauble and Stajan v.2.0 we went after today.

They tried to get Scuderi and he didn't come, win some lose some. Gordon got a high cap hit IMO and MacArthur was not liked by Carlyle and we've seen how much pull he has with management.

Honestly I think Gordon is just as overpaid as Clarkson. He's a valuable player but he's a 1.5-2 million dollar a year player in my opinion.

Right, but we need the extra dough for Clarkson.  :)

Agree. Relatively speaking it's a similar over-payment (even though Clarkson took less to come to Toronto and Gordon had to be overpaid to go to Edmonton... mwwahahahaha)
