I'm going to award myself partial credit.

The other guy who I think is in trouble is Hakstol. Have to think Philly expected better than this.

I actually liked what Hextall did in Philly. They seem to have a pretty solid forward group and some very good young defenceman. Obviously they're having problems in net but Brian Elliott was playing acceptable hockey before his injury. Most teams would have difficulties if they lost their starter for some time.

Looking at some other stats and they're 2nd last in PK% and 7th last in PP%. Considering that their personnel there is pretty good (especially on the powerplay) I'd guess that's more of a coaching issue than anything.

I agree.  I think the Flyers are underachieving at the moment and yes injuries don't help.  But I can't see Hakstol surviving.

If I were Dubas I'd at least be thinking about approaching them for Provorov if Nylander doesn't sign in the next 3 days or so and they decide they want to move him.  Take advantage of the chaos.

It seems pretty unlikely that a new GM is going to come in and think trading Provorov should be how he kicks off things.

How have they not announced Gritty as the new GM yet?

You never, never know.  And it's not like Nylander is a half-opened sack of grits.

I feel pretty confident that a team with Voracek, Giroux, JVR, Couturier and so on that currently sports the third worst GA in the entire league isn't going to see trading away one of their top 2 defensemen for a forward as the solution.

Would you say that Philadelphia could really use something that "Sparks" their goaltending?

Sure sounds to me like he's got an agent alright.
