James Reimer signs with Florida [5 years, $3.4mil AAV]

Very happy for Reimer... 5 years at $3.4 is a good deal for him.

So it looks like he was correct in his contract request from the Leafs.

Called it with Montoya moving on.  :)

I'm surprised since they just picked up Berra, but happy for Reimer.

Reims and Lu will bond nicely, given they were both unfairly pushed out of their crease and both put up subpar numbers when they were.

Both then gained their creases back and put up much better numbers when they did, only to be traded.  :)

Yeah, two of the league's most mistreated tenders by idiotic former management now get to enjoy being teammates.  :)

Love it!  8)

I don't really see how Reimer was mistreated.

He wasn't this season.  Go back to 2013/14.  This season he was given back the opportunity to succeed... and he has.  :)

Reimer is such a good guy.  Normally I don't care about players on other teams but I always hope for the best for this guy.

Sounds all good for the Panthers and Reimer:

Reimer provides a good safety net for that as a backup option and someone that can ease the burden. His even-strength save percentage last season was the third best mark in the league at .940, although when you adjust for the quality faced it was more towards the middle of the pack. Over the last three years that save percentage is .925, good for 24th in the league ? essentially a below average starter. The price to be a backup is large, but Reimer will be a very good one.

He's going to get a pretty extended look with Luongo out for the start of the season recovering from surgery. It'll be interesting to see how he fares behind Eckblad, Yandle, and Demers.
