"I know I'm being pretty reasonable, taking all that cap into consideration when really, that's not my job," told reporters. "I did my work over these past three years. I did exactly what they told me, trying to be the player they want me to be. I think I'm well on my way.

"I've got 100 games in this league. I don't think that's a little. I understand you've got to play 82 games. I'm becoming more mature and every year it's getting easier."

10 times!

NonIs should waIt thIs out and If push comes to shove, trade KadrI while hIs value Is hIgh....accordIng to KadrI.

Is this the start of a Kadri hate thread?  :o

He really does compliment himself more than any other NHLer that I can think of off the top of my head.  Whether that is a good, bad, or meaningless thing I'm not sure.

I know. Its ridiculous how much he loves himself. And Cherry isn't helping to quell that ego. KadrI is an offensive forward - that's it, and all he'll ever be. He's too full of himself to help the team in the long run.

Sooo...we should give up on a potential ppg forward strictly because he has a bit of ego?

Wow really? A Kadri hate thread?

It's an RFA negotiation and with a team that has little cap room and two RFAs to sign, I don't see much to worry about right now.

I wish I understood why some people think that a person referring to themselves as a single person is a character flaw.

Oh, I think you know what it means. I'm pretty confident about that. I know your type. I see what you did there and I like it.

Oh no! He's talking about himself in the first person! He's a witch!

Doug Gilmour never said I. Sure, it made his wedding vows super confusing BUT HE WAS ABOUT THE TEAM!

Kadri has to realize you don't award a player with a big contract akin to what the 22nd leading scorer in the NHL would get based on one 48 game season. Sign a 2-3 year bridge contract, prove you're worth big bucks, then cash in.

I don't see how that's a hard and fast rule. Corey Perry got a 5 year, 26+ million dollar deal at Kadri's age despite his best season to that point being one where he scored only 10 more points than Kadri did this year over a full season. That was a deal that worked out well for both sides and seems to have built a pretty good relationship between team and player.

Considering the deal Landeskog just signed the idea that Kadri looking for something significant somehow would be unheard of isn't really true.

I know I'm being pretty reasonable, taking all the positives and negatives into consideration when really, that's not my job.  I did my work over the past decade. I did exactly what the mods told me, trying to be the poster they want me to be. I think I'm well on my way.

I've got 5700 posts in this forum. I don't think that's a little. I understand you've got to post every day. I'm becoming more mature and every year it's getting easier.

Potvin, I appreciate that you always give 110% and that you're willing to go into the dirty discussions. You're willing to stick up for fellow posters and should be rewarded for that.

I'd rather have Kadri saying "I" when he speaks about himself, not the Jim Kelly mould where he used to speak about himself in the 3rd person.  Imagine Kadri saying:

"Nazem Kadri knows Kadri is being pretty reasonable, taking all that cap into consideration when really, that's not Nazem Kadri's job," told reporters. "Kadri did his work over these past three years. Kadri did exactly what they told Kadri to do, trying to be the player they want Kadri to be. Kadri thinks he's well on his way."
