McCann and it's 3-1 over our once-stellar D.

Why does it seem like Rielly may be a common denominator?

When the D got back to "full strength" (I've written off Muzzin) maybe the forwards starting letting up a bit?  Who the hell knows.

Ya I'm starting to worry about goaltending.

Too early to panic but the question is what level will they settle in at?  The start for both was too good to be true.
The team D has also slipped since guys came back. Agree though way too early to panic/worry.

Problem is they played well and everyone including the media figured Dubas was a genius. These guys weren't traded or let go for no reason. Can they get their game back for sure but it's a long season and that's why I didn't get too excited when both were playing well. Team is good playoffs are a shoe-in we'll see how far we go. Like I said I'm not sold on either.

Ya hopefully this is the bad end of the pendulum swing.

Every team, every player goes through it.

I've always like Morgan but he doesn't move the needle for me as an elite D. Expendable in my opinion. Only thing I liked is he took a discount to stay here. But it's true since he's back we've struggled defensively. Can't solely blame him but it is strange.

I think part of it is the Reilly not yet being up to speed, but also the buy-in on team defense that resulted in all those wins seems to have evaporated as well.

Used to happen when Sundin or any other star came back from injury. For whatever reason the team(s) let up because the star will take care of things. They need to get back to how they played when everyone was out.

I'll agree with the latter. We all know what Reilly's strengths and weaknesses are. Defence is not one of them.

I was thinking the same thing but IMO the analogy doesn't quite explain it.  Sundin literally saved the day in many games; Rielly isn't considered in the same light.

Canada is just smothering the Czechs?and then a. Huge goal from the Czech?s.  What a nice play kicking the puck into the zone

Yes he did but the team didn't play the same way is the point. Leafs are doing it now. They'll get out of it.

Point taken.  You're right.
