Game Notes

TOR
?Sparks will make his season debut and first start as the Leafs regular back-up
?Babcock wouldn't reveal any line-up changes he has in mind after the Ottawa loss, but I wouldn't be surprised if one or both of the scratched defencemen come in

CHI
?Forsberg will make his season debut for the Blackhawks
?Chicago is coming off a 5-4 win over the Blues on Saturday
?Toews and Kane are both off to good starts offensively, scoring 5 and 4 points respectively in 2 games

Injuries

Code:

?Corey Crawford - Concussion - Injured Reserve
?Connor Murphy - Back - Out indefinitely

The Blackhawks are starting Cam Ward tonight.

Last time he faced the Leafs, he let in 4 goals on 16 shots and was pulled after 2 periods.

I would've liked Marincin and Holl to come in together over Hainsey and Ozhiganov.

It would give Sparks 3 defenders he's very familiar with playing the puck to.

That said, it'll be a great way to try out either Marincin or Dermott on the right side as an eventual Hainsey replacement experiment.

I like the leafs strategy of forcing stretch passes against a team that plays the neutral zone well

More Babcock hockey. Chip and chase and hope for the best. Manages to make the Leafs look slow and chaotic against three of the worst teams in the league.

That goal can?t stand.  High stick.

But man, leafs have to start better. They have been outplayed since the puck dropped on Wednesday.
